Option for thicker pen weights.
Currently we are limited to 2mm max for pen weights which is simply too small for some projects.

Reduce notebook file size, because when the notebooks get more and more after time it’s uses a lot of storage.

hex numbers for saved colors
when you go into the editing page for a color you saved, it does not provide the hex number, making it difficult to make highlighters and stuff the same color.

Links and tags with bidirectional movement
Any ability to easily add links and tags would be great...
But look at roam research and think about how you might add automatic indexing and cross linking!Would be killer.

Option to scribble for erasing notes

Highly customizable and hideable snapping grid
I know a lot of snapping grid request have been proposed but I wanted to propose something more specific.
One of the feature that I love with GoodNotes is the ability to create our own templates with precise format. I attached a file as an example.
I created a lot of different templates with grids on them. But depending of the templates the size and the position of the grid differ.
So what could be great is to have the ability to create snapping grid with :
- custom colors;
- toggle hide/show (hiding would be useful for not overlaying existing grid…

remarkable
I bought a Remarkable tablet because I hate writing on the iPad screen. While the Remarkable is a great writing instrument, it has no way to search the text you have written. The Remarkable iPad allows one to share notes with GoodNotes. This works great but unfortunately the imported notes don't have a converted text layer. It would be great if GoodNotes could convert the handwriting of imported Remarkable notes so that a note would become searchable

Quick Menu for fast access to tools
I like how the app Procreate has implemented their Quick Menu. It is fast and easy to pull up. Users can assign their preferred tools to the different slots in the menu. I would love a gesture-activated Quick Menu in GoodNotes. It can speed up my workflow to a great extent. I would enjoy the process more too because I will no longer have to stop to reach for the tool that I want or to go through menu options. The process becomes faster and more intuitive without interfering with my train of thought.

Lasso tool in the zoom window! (and other upgrades)
this is my biggest peeve with GoodNotes. I take my notes very sporadically during class, it's a lot of cognitive vomit and then I'll rearrange it to make sense later. Sometimes I will break apart some sentences, add small changes, and piece it back together to save some time. It gets really annoying when I have to constantly zoom back into the window that I was working in prior. Notability has this feature but their zoom window isn't nearly as smooth is GoodNotes. Flashcard implementation QnA format
Hey I tried posting this prior but I wasn’t clear enough and the thread was closed so I’m going to try again with an image of how I think would be great way to implement the flashcards.
Essentially there would be a button, either a stand alone button or within the selection tool that will create 2 selection boxes (sequentially obviously), the first being a selection of the question and the second being the selection of the answer (I guess it would also work fine if it were a lasso style too). Toolbar redesign & customization
On landscape mode
- Move the toolbar elements to the side. Colors, pens, markers, undo, redo, bookmark, share... Allow the user to move all those elements to the sides (left+ right, all right, all left, classic mode). It allows more vertical space for writing and reading
- Change some UI elements: for example, “take a pic” and “gallery” can be combined into one single ui element, leaving more space for new ui elements (such us more colours, sizes, pentypes). Also, as seen in GoodNotes recent update, “shape” tool is no longer needed and can be replaced by “hold to shape”. Could be…

Tag files by color
It would be super helpful to be able to tag files/folders by color. Sometimes I have a bunch of folders (or files) but I mainly use a few of them. It would be helpful to be able to add highlights/colors to these to find them easier. Similar to in Finder in macs (see screenshot)

Toggle words hidden like spoilers in reddit or notion for ç gf hi
Neeed ability to hide part of what we have read ....so as to promote active recall as it is their in notion and spoilers in Reddit and other forums...reveals itself only when we click it

I suggest to add the tree view for single notebook, just like the “Microsoft OneNote”, now the GoodNotes is the best handwriting app, but it doesn’t have the tree view, I can’t organize content, please, thank you.

I would love a dropper feature where if you have a palette you can pick a color from there for font colors.
