Study Flashcards
The ability to select the number of flashcards to be shown during a session, that way you can slowly increase the number of cards you study each time. For example, I can choose to study 5, 10, or 20 cards out of 40 flashcards. Then once those are learned, I can add more by increasing the amount of cards.

Pencil support in Flashcard mode
Flashcards are a great way to learn.
But when studying topics that are more complicated than vocabulary it would be very helpful to be able to write down the answer before checking if it was correct. (For example mathematical derivations). Writing the answer also helps with learning. My idea is that the flashcard screen shows two flashcards: One with the question (like it already does) and one, that is blank. You can write down your answer in the blank flashcard using the Apple Pencil. When clicking the flashcard with the question it flips over and shows the correct answer, so…

Intuitive Hyperlinks like Liquid text
Hoping that instead of implementing typical hyperlinking when you finally do, that you instead opt for a more intuitive and fluid solution like the LiquidText app. That would be amazing! Who wants to just take notes when you could be creating new ideas without losing the context of their origins?
This would also make for Bullet Journaling on steroids :)

Automatic Updates for iOS and MacOS
Although I have automatic updates turned on in the App store, I frequently have to manually update the app on each device. I see that this has something to do with the "phased release" of updates. It would, however, be lovely not to have to take these extra steps on a regular basis.

scroll vs swipe
I would love love love the option to pick scroll or swipe on different documents instead of it being only scroll or only swipe (eg one notebook is scroll up and down and another notebook is swipe left to right). I hate the generalization bleh

various ideas about tools
customization of the tools in the toolbar.
-To be able to place the tools in the order you want
- Within the tools as a marker, you can choose the intensity of the color (brightness)Be able to create annotation routines, for example that the program detects or you introduce some patterns so that when you select a certain color or marker it already acquires a certain thickness or (better option ->) recognition of certain symbols so that it automatically changes to a tool (previously defined) and to save us having to change manually (((for example I write a "-"…

Colored favorites
As a student I have it iced myself flagging slides/pages for many reasons. It would be nice to have the ability to change the color of the flags. For example, so I can quickly see what items I need to review and what items I have favorited for reference.

graphics tablet functionality
I am using an XP-pen graphics tablet display on MacOS. The recognition of the stylus is frustrating. It sometimes takes a few strokes to have my input recognized, and other times it works great. Other applications (other than MS Onenote, which brought me to Goodnotes) seem to work fine with the tablet/stylus input.

boolean
Boolean Operators for the search function for more specific results:
Similar to how boolean operators work on search engines online and on library databases, Boolean operators could prove extremely useful when using the search feature on Goodnotes.
A main feature of Goodnotes is the ability to search/index handwritten notes, so the combination of this ability and of Boolean operators could make Goodnotes an extremely powerful competitor to others such as Notability!2 votes -

Scroll-option on a per-document basis
Would be nice if you can set different scroll options for different documents. For example scroll the lesson presentation vertically and your notes horizontally when having them side by side, as its annoying to scroll horizontally when you have that much pages as presentations have

Pinch out to enter navigation view
Navigating documents in GoodNotes is hardly the most intuitive - the only view button is placed awkwardly on the top left next to an exit document button and a search button! Pinching out currently does nothing, so why not let it change the view to the current thumbnail view? Ideally, this view could also incorporate a scrubbing timeline along the bottom of the screen to allow direct access to positions in a document.

Add gridline function in any notebooks or imported PDF
Sometimes I want to write sentences straight on a blank area from an imported PDF. However, most of the time, my handwriting won’t be straight if sentences are long.
If implement a gridline function in which the user can click a button on the toolbar and show gridlines on the files. It can let the user write straight handwriting sentences on any place of the PDF easily and neatly.

Handwritten notes on paper to editable "handwritten" notes in Goodnotes
I think it would be nice if I can take a picture of a handwritten document and the app will generate a digital "Goodnotes version" of it rather than just taking a photo of it. Everything I can do with a typical Goodnotes document I can do the same in this digital version.

Increase size of laser pointer
It would be helpful if the size of the laser pointer could be adjusted. The current one is pretty small and sometimes hard to recognise.
