Universal search (across documents, folders, pages within pages)
Good Notes needs a universal search option, so that from the main screen, we can search for note titles, folder names, page bookmark and text (typed or written with OCR). Otherwise, it is nearly impossible to find notes back.
We have implemented “global search” in GoodNotes 5.

Lack of this global search feature has become my number 1 issue with Good Notes and frustrates me almost daily; especially when in meetings and needing to quickly find a note; I know some key word(s) of the note, but it may be in one of many notebooks from the past ... opening up every notebook and searching in an not only an exercise in frustration, it's can be a non-trivial waste of time, to the point of considering not using Good Notes for some note taking needs. I put all three votes on this suggestion.

Please! Please! Please! Have to use google to be able to find things now. (Export to Google Does just for searching)

I agree completely. I am very impressed by how well the OCR search works within a document, and equally NOT impressed by the fact that I can't search all notes, or notes within a category, this way. A simple search field when viewing a note category would be great. And then an "All Categories" view with the same search field. Lack of universal search is the most glaring problem with Goodnotes. Otherwise the app is near perfect.

Love the app, needed a better search option. Searching in Goodnotes is solid, it can search and recognize your handwriting, but you can only search one file at a time, I needed a broader search. I was already using Evernote so I decided to embrace Evernote’s search.
Now I export my Goodnotes files to Evernote as pdf files. I save the file as a pdf with my Goodnotes file name in an associated folder name in Evernote. In Evernote I can do a high level app search by a word in the Goodnotes text and get a list of all ex-Goodnotes pdf files with the search word in it. I can also do a file specific search for the same text and find the exact handwritten word and the page location.
If I need to, I can edit the file in Evernote (not as robust as Goodnotes, but satisfactory) or using an iPad, I can reopen my file in Goodnotes and edit to my hearts content. And re-export to Evernote for long term storage and searching.
Great combo (until Goodnotes enhances its search ability to the higher level above file specific searching).

I Use iPad pro + Apple pencil. And with the release of iOS 11, Apple notes has been so smart to Search Handwriting Note.
I really Hope Good Notes has this feature. -

I just installed. Great app, but this was a feature I was counting on. I will be developing many notebooks, and my whole point of electronic vs paper was to find a particular tidbit of information via a global search.
