Audio recording that syncs with handwritten notes
We need linked audio recording so that we won't miss anything in the class or in meetings!
The reason behind the success of NOTABILITY is the audio recording functionality, I use notability just for that!
Please add it.

O yesss! Please add that feature! As the others already mentioned – that's Notability's stand-alone-feature. (If we compare among the strongest apps in the field....)
Thanks!!

Reviewing all of the following note taking apps, but removing the ones that don't have basic audio recording capabilities (which is to include GoodNote)..
No perfect solution to capture notes with audio overlay and text conversion, but Notability, Audionote, 7notes and Notshelf w/ Livescribe 3 come closest with the best features. Still waiting on the perfect solution that blends all 3 together (maybe it's onenote, as musch as that pains me to say??)

I made an Jailbreak on my iPhone (I know, god will punish me) and the iPad version woks like a charm!!!
I don't know id there is some issue with Apple Store or legal one. But technically is none. -

Audio recording would literally make this app just perfect for studying. The handwriting quality is superb, and the ability to record lectures would help out immensely.
Here's hoping we see this feature implemented in the near future!

I love good notes but hate having to switch to Notability for audio recording or using my phones voice memo app.
Please add soon and I'll be extremely happy.

Yes, this is the only major feature that’s missing, and it’s literally the only reason why I still do 60% of my notes in Notability.

Please please add ability to record audio. Don't need to record as I write. It can have a simple record button and when playing have opToon to fastfoward and rewind by selecting anywhere along the recording.. Simple simple but definitely option to record.

Just like the idea of sync audio record with handwriting, now there is a upgraded version.
The feature can be developed step by step in following order since it must be a big project, even almost another app. However, I am pretty willing to pay no less than $5 to unlock the feature if provided.1. Play video or audio file within a float window while taking notes on some PDF file. Imagine you are playing some high quality lecture video/audio downloaded from some MOOC website while viewing the its lecture notes.
2. Provide a shortcut to capture the present playing time of the media, so as to fast locate the clip while reviewing.
3. Provide another shortcut for section selection. That is to say, first tap to record the start point , second tap to record the end point. And finally just like the note tool in any PDF viewer, you can place the section icon around the relevant PDF content.
4. Quick access to rewind, forward, pause, repeat control.
5. When exporting the PDF, save selected media section as attachments of the PDF.
As far as I know, the following app s implement some partial feature mentioned above.Scrapnote: media player, allow taking notes while playing media. $4.99
Recordium: powerful audio annotation tools. Feature 2,3 but just for audio and no PDF viewer
$4.99
Audiomark: Feature 1,2 but just simple txt annotation, no document viewer, no section selection.
$0.99
So if GoodNotes can provide any of the above feature, its value should be increased at least $2 on average. With full feature, even $10 extra in-app should be reasonable. -

I agree wholeheartedly. I check back on this site daily for news of a zoombox on the iphone 6+ version. I replaced an iPad mini with the 6+ and was sorely disappointed to see this feature missing.

yep got the 6 plus with woodnotes and a stylus. Goodnotes iPhone needs the same functionality as iPad.

Audio recording would step up your game a lot. It's literally the only thing this app is lacking. Also, you guys should work with 53 and their Pencil stylus. I'd love to be able to use the eraser on my Pencil like I can in the Paper app. Very handy.

Excellent, this is the one thing from holding me back enjoying this app with peace of mind completely.
If I had that, wow...
The sooner it comes, the sooner my notes become more interactive and rich and also helpful.
Having my notes playback along with the audio (just like in Notability) would be a real helper!3 votes from this guy (and 100 more in mind!)

Yes, the 6+ is selling very well. Recent analysis suggests 1/4 new iPhone 6 purchases are actually the 6+. A lot more than at least I anticipated. I'm all in for a full 6+ experience. It's very notes friendly. Stylus support too.

I think it would be super to have an audio recording feature for times when you may want to make a note to followup later
Thanks

As far as I'm concerned linked audio recording is the only major feature that GoodNotes is missing. Actually I would have preferred linked audio precede handwriting to text conversion in the feature list. Hopefully now that text conversion has been implemented we'll see linked recordings added next. When that feature is added GN will be my go to note taking app for almost all note-taking situations.

I have been a livescribe user for years but became tired of the poor reliability of the pens and the requirement to buy their proprietary notebooks. Now I tend to use Notability purely for the reason that it has audio recording.
For me linked audio is a biggie along with the ability to add images and write in Markdown.
