Write in Place
Write in Place makes the page automatically shift to the left while writing, so your hand can stay almost in the same position. It does not matter where on the page you begin writing. As soon as you write a letter or a word, the system measures how far your pen moves to the right. The page does not move during the stroke itself, but every time you lift the pen, it immediately shifts to the left by exactly that amount.

Several Bugs After the Recent Update
After this update, I started experiencing several issues.
Before the update, when working with two windows open, I was able to drag text from one window and paste it directly into the other. After updating, this no longer works at all.
Also, when I click on text that has already been written, it sometimes changes on its own to my default saved color.
Please fix these issues as soon as possible.

make lock harder to unlock
Now that lock has been implemented, I find it too easy to select the locked object, making writing on top of it difficult.
How about something like a long press to unlock or something like that so the locked item stays locked and unselected.

Hover distortion
When hover option is enabled for Apple Pencil Pro there is some distortion on handwriting. It seems to be a software issue. I haven’t used the hover feature for years because of this. Could it be fixed?

Textbox Features
As it stands the textbox feature is limited to changing font size, color, format, and style (lists). These are all the necessary functions of a textbox, but as some quality-of-life changes these are some problems I've run into.
- Equation shortcuts like superscript, subscript, and basic greek lettering not available unless unicode is used to paste them into the textbox (time-consuming).
-No options for textbox border styles and colors to organize unless manually drawn around them.
-Autocorrection feature would be especially useful in textboxes that end up with a lot of text. Possible feature you could use the built in AI…

Bring Back the Previous Typing Feature
I would like to share some feedback about a recent change in the app. There used to be a specific typing section for entering the words, and it worked really well. It was much more practical and easier to use.
Now, with the text boxes, the experience has become a bit more difficult. The text boxes often appear misaligned and don’t work as smoothly as the previous format, which makes the gameplay less comfortable.

hi, i have one suggestion for editing
when writings and draws with apple pencil are selected by lasso tool, it shows up some editable options. but there're no options to edit the size and color and stroke setting. if i want to change that, i must delete them and rewrite. so i strongly suggest that those features gonna work more effectively.1 vote -
[Keyboard] Restore Removed Text Formatting Hotkeys
There used to be loads of hotkeys that would make things so much quicker.
E.g.,
- Cmd + +/- when highlighting text would make it larger/smaller
- Cmd + \ would centre text ([ and ] to align left/right)Both of these hotkeys have been removed. Now, when i highlight text and use Cmd + -, it just zooms out. This paired with the terrible toolbar redesign (including the floating toolbar), everything takes so many clicks. Problems with highlighting notes in a text box
Whenever you use the textbox tool and type notes, its very difficult to highlight the text. It never works like you would intend it to, and it takes multiple attempts to highlight a portion (either by double clicking or clicking and dragging) of the sentence or paragraph that you might want to bolden. Please make it so that its fluid and doesn't take a lot of attempts to highlight textbox notes.

Copy & Paste with Format
I would like to suggest adding a “Copy Format / Paste Format” feature to GoodNotes.
Currently, when adjusting text styles (font, size, color, spacing, etc.), users must manually change each element individually. A format copying tool—similar to the “Format Painter” in apps like Microsoft Word—would greatly improve efficiency and workflow.
With this feature, users could:

I'd love if we could have autocorrect and spelling check for typed notes. It's a feature for written notes, but I'd love it for typed notes too.

Recognize and Change Shorthand
A feature like preferences in Google Docs where we can set certain terms / symbols to be recognized auto changed to whatever you want , i.e. you can set “w/o” to be auto changed to “without.”
If not automatically, then be given the option for it to be changed (similarly to the way spellcheck words).

Permanent laserpointer dot following the handwriting pen
Whenever you are writing on an already somewhat full page (be it in a classroom setting or in a video that you might publish), it would be very helpful to have a visual indicator to tell the viewer WHERE you are writing. Especially if you have to jump between several places on the page, this makes it much easier to follow.
I would therefore like to see an option where the already exisiting dot laserpointer can be turned on to follow the pen for heightened visibilty.

European math notations
The math features are awesome, saving some time not needing to use the manual calculator. However, in Europe we use comma instead of points for decimals and the math tools sometimes struggles with that and interprets decimal numbers as vectors or coordinates. Please add support for European math notations.

Recent Issues with Textbox Typing + Toolbar + Lagging + Further suggestion
1 - the toolbar being on top of the textbox itself is terrible. It blocks seeing text around where I'm typing which is really bothersome.
2 - the pin-tool stops whenever I try editing the textbox length (which is very often since it doesn't automatically align with the length anymore) which makes the app think ive used a different tool and completely defeats the purpose of pinning the tool in the first place.
3 - I often need to restart the app mid lecture because it crashed mid-typing in textboxes . The app is unable to accommodate basic fast typing.…1 vote -
BRING BACK NORMAL TYPING
The new update on mac makes it so that you cant just tap on the screen and type based on the lines of the page, you have to go through so many steps just to start typing, this has made it extremely annoying to take notes quickly, I suggest bringing back normal typing and keeping the holding page for whole page typing as an add on for people who want it.

Text box color
For the textbook allow us to have a default color for the words inside the text box that isn’t the black one. It is annoying have go back and choose the color I want to type that isn’t black each time I make a new text box.
