per document settings
There are quite a few preferences, that should be set and/or remembered „per document“ and “not app-wide” because they depend mainly upon the content and style of each notebook. Including:
scroll direction
auto advance of zoom window
last used size of zoom window
last used margins of zoom window
pen colour presets (we now have a 3rd tab for recently used colours, this should be a “document colour preset” or “recently used in THIS document” instead)
last used text style and text box style (and user style presets if we ever get them)
filter settings for paper template selection (format…

Global color palette
It would be a critical feature for to have a global color palette that can be used in both handwriting and text. Otherwise, we will have to do double entry for every custom color that we want to use in different tools.

lock documents
It would be cool to have the option, to lock a document, so that it only can be accessed by keyword/face_id/fingerprint. This would be nice for Bankstatements, private diaries or just as a way from keeping other ppl from snooping around in ur documents

Sticky Notes over the edge of the document
It would be super helpful if there were a function to pin sticky notes slightly over the edge of the side of documents. I drew a picture for better understanding :)
This feature could help make ones own notes better visible. Plus: sometimes the borders of documents are to narrow to take detailed notes without opening another document/page.4 votes -
Be able to hide pages
As I study, sometimes i have to take notes on an assignment and my class notes are filled with pages that are only for those assignment and when i revise my notes to study I don't need those. I think it would be great to be able to choose pages and hide them, so they don't bother me once i have already used them but if i need them i can use them again.

Handwritten comment section instead of limited to type-set comment section
It would be great if the "Comment" allows handwritting in case the user prefers to have a better description of the "Comment" or else make references to equations and/or graphical elements without affecting the main document due to small margins or high density of information..

Request for Enhanced Pen Formatting Features in GoodNotes Application
I would like to express my appreciation and gratitude for the GoodNotes application that you have developed. It has been tremendously helpful in my daily studies and work, providing an excellent and convenient platform for recording and organizing my thoughts.
While I am satisfied with many features of GoodNotes, there is a particular function that I believe could further enhance the application if incorporated. This is the ability to adjust the format of handwriting. I've noticed that we can already modify the color of our strokes, which is a very practical feature. However, if we could also adjust the thickness…

Folder tree view
The iPad files app has a tree view for folders that is incredibly handy. Introducing something like that to goodnotes would make managing notes a lot easier

Double tap to turn study card
Tap to turn. The app is for ipad, it’s unintuitive then that the flash card starts on typing and you have to tap into a different screen to start writing with stylus. Generally, no one using goodnotes is trying to type their things. I also don’t like having to go in and out in and out to write the question and then it’s answer, I suggest having a double tap feature where the card in question is able to flip for ease of editing either sides.

Button to switch between File Explorer and Currently Open Documents
At the moment one can switch from the document viewer to the file explorer … but not the other way around. From a UI / UX standpoint, this flaw is very frustrating.
This problem was raised several years ago but apparently ignored. The currently suggested 'solution' (to use the search button and select a document from there) just does not cut it. A 'hack' is never a good solution to a design flaw.

Curved lines
I'd like it to be easier to create curved lines. For example I'd like to be able to make a rectangle with rounded corners.

space to write or draw next to the slide like one note
Make Extra Margin Space In Imported PowerPoints
It would be super nice to have extra space to write sentences and phrases on the side or under imported PowerPoint instead of only being able to write on the slide. Writing on the slide helps highlight terms etc, but doesn't help any extra information a teacher/professor may say out loud, that's not a part of the slide.4 votes -
See all comments of a book
It would great if you can see all comments you wrote in one book together. Perhaps under the field outlines "see all comments".

Smaller UI
The UI does not have to always be visible. When i am taking notes i just want a FULLSCREEN (see that idea too) paper and maybe a widget on one of the edges for changing the color or the thickness of my pen. I don't need to have the save and delete and bookmark and tabs and title and everything on top of the paper. Just tools and colors. For more there should be a pop-up menu or something.

Read-only mode: flip sides with two fingers
in Read-only mode I would like to have the option to flip sides with TWO fingers only. So the sides would not move when using only one finger (same function as in „edit mode“)

Add .tex option to equations
I've seen your attempt to convert handwriting to equations and I love this idea. A word from a STEM student. Please leave an option to edit output manually using .tex. I will even pay additionally for such an option. Besides, it can improve your ML models, as most of the people that would use that, would probably be professionals which would make error detection far better.
