Ability to add a different type of paper upon adding a new page
Currently, when adding a new page it duplicates the style from the page before. I would love to see something similar to the IOS Version, where you can either add a new page instantly or add a different type.
Happy Holidays btw :)155 votesThank you for your feedback. The feature has been implemented and is live.
Users can access the sidebar and tap on the three dots "..." to add a page before or after the current page. They can choose a different template for the new page. Additionally, users have the option to change the template of an existing document.

Option to change page pattern within one notebook
It would be nice if you could choose a new style for each page that you add to the existing notebook. For example: You chose blank pages for your notebook in the beginning but you need lined pages later.

3,150 votes[Open multiple documents in tabs is live on Android and Windows 🎉]
Hello,
Thank you so much for sharing your suggestions and voting for that idea! We’re excited to share that opening multiple documents in tabs is now live on Android tablets and the Windows app.
You can now switch seamlessly between multiple documents using tabs—without losing your place.
Any new document you open will appear as a tab, while your previously opened documents stay open in the background at the exact location where you left off, making it easy to jump right back in.
Currently, this feature is available for an unlimited number of Notebooks and Whiteboards. For Text Documents, it’s limited to one active document for now—but this will be resolved soon.
How to enable Tabs
- Go to the Library
- Tap Settings (top-right corner)
- Go to Settings, then Preferences
- Open Document Settings
- Enable Open documents as Tabs

More paper sizes
It would be nice if you could choose different paper size. Like such as DIN A7, A6, A5, A4, A3, A2, A1, A0.
128 votesThank you for your feedback. The feature has been implemented and is now live.
During the notebook creation, users have the option to choose from Goodnotes Standard, A7, A6, A5, A4, A3, Letter and Tabloid size.
The same size options are also available in the landscape mode.

Please add more thickness of the pen
The medium-thick pen is thick, and the thin one is too thin. I hope the thickness selection step will be increased to five.
366 votes🚀 NEW FEATURE ALERT! 🚀 You can now customize your pen or highlighter thickness to suit your exact needs!
Whether you prefer a finer point for more detailed notes or a thicker stroke for emphasis, the choice is now yours. Simply select the custom thickness option and adjust the slider to your desired width. It's that easy!
We're gradually rolling out the update. Refresh your GoodNotes for Windows app or restart your Goodnotes for Android app to today.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. We understand that this topic is very important to you. In the meantime, Goodnotes on Android, Windows, and Web supports most of the major features you enjoy on Apple, though we’re still working on creating a more consistent experience across all platforms.
Since this thread has become quite long and covers multiple ideas, it’s difficult to address each one specifically or evaluate which topics are most urgent. For now, we’ll close this thread to help keep things organized in the forum.
If you have multiple ideas and want them to be actionable, we recommend sharing them in separate threads: 1 feature request = 1 thread. This makes it easier for others to vote, check if an idea has already been submitted, and helps us identify which ideas are most important to you.
Once a feature goes live, we’ll update the thread…

Horizontal scrolling through pages
As of now, I have only been able to scroll down through all the pages in a notebook. It would be nice to have the option to swipe left or right to flip through the pages. (like a Kindle Book)
501 votesTo set your preferred scrolling direction, open a notebook and navigate to the menu (located at the top right with three dots).

Ability to disable touch drawing or change touch sensitivity
I'm having a little issue with constantly having to undo because the slightest touch creates pen marks or drawings. It would be nice to have the touch sensitivity feature that iOS does because I currently use a Microsoft surface pen to draw and not my finger or another similar stylus. I know you can use 2 fingers to move the screen, but in the iOS version, it isn't necessary. I would love to see this update included!
34 votesHappy to announce that we've introduce a new toggle under advanced pen options to connect or disconnect stylus. This will ignore finger touch as drawing input when connected to stylus. Give it a try and let us know if it solves the issue that you faced.
Thank you for your feedback and keep em coming. We are actively monitoring this forum to know what to work on next.

Improving The Lasso select
It would be great if we can copy and paste the selected elements by lasso select. Also, there is something I didn't like about the lasso select which is that every time I enable it by the stylus button it stays on and if you want to change it you will have to select the pen or something else manually, and I think it should be off automatically like OneNote and other apps.
24 votesGoodNotes for Windows already provides support copy/paste objects. You can refer to this help article for more information: https://support.goodnotes.com/hc/en-us/articles/5898634781071-Using-the-Lasso-Tool

Lines Automatically straight
It would be very nice if you could just draw a line and hold the stylus at the end of it to automatically straighten it.
413 votes📣 Introducing Draw and Hold! We're happy to announce that now you can hold your stylus at the end of a drawing to automatically straighten or snap into a shape. Also, now you can enable the option to always draw highlighter in straight line 😉
You can enable this by going to advance settings of Pen tool and enabling Draw and Hold.

Make it less laggy
so ive tried it out and my convertible laptop is dying inside. it doesnt write smoothly and everything needs 3 seconds to render. my laptop is doing fine so i dont understand why its so laggy and why is it an edge based app... i think a normal app will improve it so well since basic tools are missing like photos and stickers and even writing text! 🥺 there is so much stuff thats missing even if its a beta version! youre doing great but its the minimum we can ask for
1,561 votesHello, thank you for sharing your feedback!
Since your topic has been long-awaited and we’re organizing the forum, we can confirm that during this time we’ve improved the speed and quality of the app.
If you want to provide specific details about your experience, please reach out to our customer support team and include your device information.

Option "open document in web"
Regarding the "open document in web" option, I would like that instead of having to copy the link and paste it in the web browser (which for windows users is very annoying since they have to type the link in a random place to being able to paste it to the windows pc browser), being able to directly log in from the windows "goodnotes" web. So there is no need to copy or paste the link and it is more secure.
