Hello! We’re excited to let you know that we’ve updated the Text tool and introduced a new dedicated floating menu for text boxes, including more customization options.

One of the new tools is Pin Text Tool — when enabled, it keeps the Text tool active so you can create multiple text boxes continuously without having to reselect it each time.

This is especially helpful when you're focused on adding or adjusting text in your notes. The pin will automatically turn off once you switch to another tool.

Feel free to try it out and let us know how it works for you!

This improvement is available in the latest Apple update.

I really don’t like the new update at all — it honestly makes me so sad that we always have to just accept these big changes from brands without the option to keep the old version. I still love Goodnotes, but updates like this make me start looking for alternatives.
The new toolbar feels cluttered and inconvenient — all the extra clicks are time-consuming and frustrating. Removing the 0.5 line spacing was also a bad move; the automatic option never works properly, and now nothing feels as smooth or precise as before.
I also don’t understand why the undo buttons are now below the toolbar — it just takes up space and makes the document area smaller. Why change what was already working perfectly?
From reading other comments, it’s clear that many of us just want Goodnotes to feel like home again — familiar, simple, and reliable. I really hope you’ll consider these concerns, because I’d be so sad to have to leave Goodnotes after loving it for so long.
