  2. I often scan documents by using GoodNote's function. Scan docs then write down memo with Apple Pencil on GoodNotes.
Most Hiragana and Katakana are ok, but Kanji isn't. For example, printed word is "揉捏", but recognized string will be "探程" , "操探" etc. It happens even though scanned image is clear. Those characters' shape is totally different from the original string for Japanese or Kanji users.

I would be appreciate if OCR could be improved.
I also understood kanji character's shape is complicated and OCR library might be limited. So correcting OCRed string can be alternative.

  4. The topic says it all really …

Currently the app preferences captures a setting for your language, with respect to handwriting recognition.

My suggestion is to extend that data point to also apply to the default language used when creating a new “Study Set” of flash cards.

The need to change this every time seems a failing on the part of the design…

  6. I am creating study sets for each module, but it would be good to create a master set so that throughout my degree it is possible to revise the most important bits from each module in one set

  7. The new flashcard feature is great, now we can see the cards in a bigger way. The only thing that would be useful, would be if we had an overview over all the cards like we do in a normal notebook over all the pages, so that we can find specific cards more easily.

  9. Please add a Footnote tools. Sometime when taking notes (either by hand writing or keyboard), I want to refer an information from something I wrote to any specific document or any format of information I need to put on which already saved on my ‘IPad books library’ (e.g. .pdf) by adding a footnote. When tapping the footnote, I can browse and choose any doc from my library, open the source, and highlighted the specific information I want to pointed if such reference is an ebook-pdf which contains many pages. Therefore, the exact highlighted information will immediately and automatically show up…

  13. As a musician I would love so much to see a tool in Goodnotes which would allow to draw perfect parallel lines for music staves in any length. The optimum would be to be able to select the number of lines drawn, from only one when needed for percussion/pure rhythm notation to five for the regular system and even up to six lines (for guitar tablature). The famous music app ForScore has this feature in pro version which works great, but the general functionality of drawing and colouring in this app is so poor, I feel GoodNotes is light years…

  14. It would be fantastic to have a feature that allows for effortless export of files in a print-ready format. My notes often include a variety of colors and are typically taken on a dark template. Unfortunately, when it comes to printing physical copies, I must manually adjust the templates and colors of my notes, which is quite a time-consuming process. While I'd be eager to create a script to address this issue, to the best of my knowledge, GoodNotes does not offer a public API(?).

  20. Allow the creation of slides which "build", like PowerPoint's "appear" animation, without making multiple pages.

I am a university professor; my colleagues and I use GoodNotes heavily both for teaching and presenting our research at scientific conferences. One of the last advantages PowerPoint has over GoodNotes, for our use, is the slide animation feature, where objects on a single slide can be made to appear one at a time when the slides are presented. To replicate this behavior in GoodNotes right now, the standard technique is to build the slide over multiple pages, using the page duplication feature. However, this…
