I want to use Goodnotes for sketching, currently pen is unsuitable.

Can't believe we are still waiting for new pen styles 7 years later.
I've been using Goodnotes for 6 years now and I'm so frustrated that they still don't have more pen styles. I switched to digital notes to save paper and space but I still love the feeling of writing on actual paper. I have custom nibs, a paper-like magnetic screen, and realistic paper templates in hopes to emulate writing on real paper. But the current pen styles do not help at all, especially the solid edges and color. I really hope Goodnotes will add more pens soon, such as a lead pencil and a pen with parallel tip. I'm switching to a different app until they add this feature.

I would really really love pencil option. As in a lead pencil as a tool choice.

i think it would be very beneficial if we could import our own types of pens into the app. procreate allows so many different styles and options, i even have a ballpoint type of pen in there which makes everything feel nicer. people saying to use the pressure tool don't get it.

With just the options of pressure, tilt and stabilization you can create many different 'brushes.' Add some kind of texture or 'grain' option (like procreate) and you've got yourself a best-in-class app across multiple categories.

Even adding the tools available in the default iPad drawing app (airbrush, better stabilizer, pencil etc.) would make Goodnotes irreplaceable. + Make your loyal followers verrry happy!

Like others I am also specifically interested in a calligraphy type pen. (Preferably a lot like the calligraphy pen in Apple Notes, that one is very good).

I would appreciate that there was pencil tool like notability because I really like the style that comes out of a pencil. In notability, the pencil tool has pressure sensitivity and tilt sensitivity so I wish that you can incorporate that and refine it in Goodnotes. Thanks!

I use Goodnotes to draw tactical boards for hockey and player paths like "backward skating" could be vastly improved by this!!
