Create functionality to support a task list
While taking notes in meetings I find that tasks end up getting embedded in my notes.
Without having to switch to another task management app it would be convenient to be able to create a task on the fly and have it inserted into the page where I'm taking the notes.
Then, please allow me to view/manage tasks across the entire notebook, the entire folder or my entire GoodNotes installation.
For starters, all I would ask for would be the ability to check a task when it's completed and view/sort tasks by notebook / folder / all GoodNotes, checked/unchecked/either, toggle sort by chronological order of task creation

Great idea!! Adding the ability to have imbedded tasks within notes that can be viewed/sorted by notebook/folder/all GoodNotes and checked/unchecked is a critical feature in my opinion. It would make the decision to move from OneNote to GoodNotes very easy…

+10 on this idea... it will make the application much handier. Like many, I prefer the “manual” effect of note-taking, but if there could be a symbol that created a Task... boom! Game changer.
The MVP of this idea can be simple: iOS and Android both have basic task management in them. Just throw all my GN Tasks into the OK task manager, an I can sort them, etc. From there later. But as others have pointed out... don’t let them remain locked up in my scribbles!

Adding this feature would make GoodNotes a fantastic app for professional meetings. Actions tend to pop up dynamically during meetings, and get noted down in line with the rest of the meeting notes.
A feature to tag these items as actions, and associate a due date and status with them, would be incredibly useful. Ensure that there is an "action centre" where you can view actions only, from across all notebooks or just a selection, add notes to the action, and change the due date and status.
From the action centre you could click on an action to move to the place in the notebook where it was created to see the context.

This feature would be a game change for GoodNotes as a business tool. Business people take notes in meetings for the purpose of following up tasks afterwards. Tasks marked in any notebook should be accessable from a common listing of all tasks across the GoodNotes app. I woüld like the ability to "lasso" some handwritten text and mark it as a task. Also it would be great if tasks could be marked with categories, duedate and grouped into groups.

This would work great for me too

I could not agree more. The app is great for note taking and it would be a significant improvement to add the ability to log tasks with due dates, completion status, etc.

Totally agree with this request. At work, I spend much time in meetings on many different topics. I typically capture notes with follow up tasks. Due to the high number of topics, it is critical to keep my tasks with my notes for context.
Having the ability to view outstanding tasks from across the entire notebook(s) in a central location is a must to be useful. Onenote nailed this years ago and I'm surprised not to find this in many note taking apps. I can do this with evernote with their search function - you can search for unfinished tasks.
