Add a sidebar file browser, like Notability
The sidebar allows you to quickly switch between documents and browse them unobtrusively within your current document.

As everyone else has said above, the real estate in that left sidebar could be used to house folders for easier access to other documents. This would make it so efficient to go back and forth to documents!

This sidebar:
- must be swipeable from either the left or right side of the screen
- can show all notes, recents, favorites, unfiled, shared - exactly like what Notability currently has (please see attached screenshot)
- shows important information about each note, e.g., modified date, created date, location, etc.
- can filter and sort notes based on selected options, e.g. modified date, created date, etc.
- when the user taps a note to open, either switch to that note or open it in the backgroundAs a GN6 paid user, this feature is critical.

Please, GoodNotes developers, for Pete's sake. We're paying customers and you *still* haven't fixed this basic design flaw.
Also, your "for now" solution is *not* a solution. It's a terrible approach, almost like you're saying it be a feature not a bug. You've invested in AI (no doubt to spy on people's documents and steal our ideas). Why can you not deal with this with a simple ticket that would take max 2–4 hours (development+review+deployment)?

Couldn't agree more with all of the points already mentioned. I feel this is an essential feature to make folder and file navigation efficient.

Yes! Organization is one thing that goodnotes is lacking. I would love love for it to ve more organized like notability. It’s the only reason I prefer using notability more, when goodnotes is better in every other way.

The sidebar on GoodNotes for Mac is pretty useless. It's a total waste of screen real estate. The three options could easily be tabs or buttons somewhere else.
We need a REAL sidebar! Why can't I drag folders to the big vast empty sidebar for shortcuts?
I love GoodNotes, but the Mac version is super frustrating to use. The number of unnecessary clicks makes it a chore. Moving documents is a clunky PITA. Adding the ability to place folders in the sidebar would make a huge difference!
I'd really like for the sidebar to function as a proper file browser, but I'd settle for even simpler functionality.

Please! I was about to buy it but I'm looking for something with a "table of contents" instead of a file explorer.

I switched to GoodNotes for its stability, but I just can’t stand it’s organization. Please add this or at least give a choice.
