Searching for a “whole phrase” (example) instead of individual words in a phrase?
I’m trying to search for multi-word phrases in GoodNotes on my iPad and the search engine appears to be treating each word as an independent search term. Is it possible to search for the entire phrase?
Example: Searching for “Looking for this phrase” is apparently translated to searching for “Looking” OR “for” OR “this” OR “phrase” instead of using AND’s or using the actual search text, perhaps in “ “‘s?

I can't even search periods in mathematical equations or programming language syntax. This issue needs to be addressed immediately. You do not expect something like this where you can edit and read PDF docs.

YES!!!! This is such a huge issue and it need to be fixed ASAP! Or at least bring back the old search function!
I also hate how when searching for specific word like "COMMUNITY" the search results are polluted with other vaguely similar words like "communicate," "communications" and "communication". Like how does that make sense?
The point of a search function is to narrow down what to look at in order to find what you're looking for... So when the search function brings you back hundreds of matches, then the purpose is defeated. More is NOT merrier when it comes to search results, Goodnotes.

It looks like what was meant to improve the search function has made it worse.

Also if I search for say the word "tracking" it's giving me search results for track, tracker, tracking etc.
That could be useful but it would be nice to be able to choose to just return the results for the exact word I'm looking for.. -

I was surprised to find that this phrase search feature was not already baked into GoodNotes. Searching on individual terms or using a BOOLEAN OR of multiple terms provides only half a solution. At the very least, allow a search on a phrase in quotes, although it should be simpler than that. As more workers go remote, and paperless workflows and tools become more important, being able to do a phrase search within GoodNotes is far superior to going to a PDF reader for the same search.

I couldn't agree more with the two individuals who commented before me. This feature is very important.
For example, I was searching through a 600 page trial transcript today and needed to find a Q&A that I knew started with "do you know." The search function gave me every instance of the words "do," "you," and "know." All of these words are insanely common. The search is not useful unless one word you are searching for is something obscure that would only be found in a few places.

I keep having to go back to version 4 SOLELY because it already does this. I can't search phrases, or phrases within quotation marks.
Searching defined terms (like "Loan") or section numbers (like Section 10.01), without it returning numerous unhelpful results (like returning each instance of ", Loan, "; or each instance of Section, 10, 01).
I'm an attorney and have to search through hundreds of pages for defined terms in quotation marks, and the new app is useless to me because it doesn't have this function.

Yes this is so vital! Have this search not be just one word, it’s quite hard to find what you’re looking for if you have that word in 100+ documents. I need to be able to search minimum three words together. Additionally, it’s even harder if you’re not able to select within which folder would you like to search this up? Because the same word could be in multiple classes but I only care for the ones in Cardiology not in Anatomy.
