Automatic switch of paper and ink colour between dark and light modes
In dark mode, switch automatically to dark paper and white ink, and revert back automatically to light paper and black ink when in light mode.

Goodnotes! What's the hold up on this? I beg you, please make this the next major implementation.

Many apps already have it, I can't believe that also with Goodnotes 6 this option is still not available! With this function your eyes would be more relaxed when you work at night, but also would be a great improvement if you take notes with a black notebook and you want to print them with white pages. Please consider this option!

Can definitely relate to being so annoyed whenever I decide to change or update the template, and then I have to go back and lasso around the whole area, on every page and change the colours then.
It would be wonderful to see a pop then, asking permission to change the colour of the content according to the template. (change to black template? Change the Black pen content to white) -

this would improve the app so much.. i know there would be a little struggle with converting colors.. but i think everyone would be much happier converting a little bit of coloured text rather than having to convert the whole page..

its sad that GoodNotes ignoring these suggestions at this price!
They don't care!If you want a real Dark Mode you have to use alternative apps like OneNote.
Because this function will never come. -

GoodNotes needs a feature like this! I rendered my own dark/light modes of the same note page by manually changing the colors. Basically, there is a threshold of how much the colors of ink should change. The color and background should have the same relative contrast between modes. Apple already has this feature in their iOS Notes app, GoodNotes needs it in theirs. I can’t print a black notes page on white paper without spending a fortune on ink. See the attached images for reference.

They even have this feature in the native ios Notes app. Come on GoodNotes! Why did I pay money when obvious features are missing, that are available in the free native app?

Or if we could just specify our pens/colors/sizes per template? So each time I open my black square grid, my white/colored pens come up but if I switch templates to white/yellow, it triggers a switch to a different combo.

they have this feature in OneNote and I wish they didi it in GoodNotes too ! the most important change is changing the black/white ink but the colours could also be changed to the corresponding darker or lighter version of the colour

I think it's fine to leave all the other colors unchanged (besides the highlighters, they are visible only until you lift the pen, so maybe it's more an issue of how to render them on dark paper). If you export without background (e.g. if you send your document to someone who prefers a white background, or if you want to print it), white ink is the only color* that won't be visible anymore. Therefore it should be converted automatically.
* as long as you don't add the colors of the yellow and dark paper to the standard color palette.

I think it would make more sense to leave the paper in the color that it is and also not switching ink colors. That way, your note would look the same in all scenarios. Colors like dark green aren't really visible on black. I think it's enough to make the interface and menu (and the margins next to the page) darker, but not the page itself. If you want black paper also, you can already chosse a "dark" color option for the paper in your note settings.

Any idea of how that would work with coloured writing, i.e. green not black?
