Double-page viewing.
As a professional musician, GoodNotes is almost perfect for viewing and marking up sheet music both during rehearsals and performances! In my circle of friends and colleagues, GoodNotes is really becoming our go-to app! We unanimously agree that the only feature that is missing for viewing sheet music is the ability to view two pages at once (like an open book or in Mac's Preview "double-page viewing"). Is it possible that I'm just not seeing this feature?
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

you also need thumbs up/down button on official reply to see whether the reply was useful or not
cuz this solution is completely inadequate

For everyone seeking for a solution, I found a trick how to go around the problem. :)
1. Open the pdf on Safari
2. Go to the sharing icon on the top right
3. Go to "Print"
4. Go to "Layout"
5. Go to "Pages per Sheet"
6. Select how many pages you want to see per sheet. In your case two.
7. Go to the sharing option again
8. Open document in GoodNotes.
Here is a also a screen recording on how to do it:
You can even merge several pdf as you wish through pdf online tools. :)

Dear Goodnotes!
I think you missed the point!
As a professional musician too I also would like (in some cases I need) the option
to have scores side by side it makes the reading/playing process much easier. So the point is that in multiple windows or in split view there is no option to sync the "moving to the next page" move to the other opened window with an offset.
You need to get to the next two pages simultaneously.Regarding, Mario Malidus

I think GoodNotes missed the intent of the feature request (while I love the mentioned “two notebooks side-by-side”). The musicians - and others - are looking for a “spread-view” within a single notebook. Just like one uses any book - a left page and right page showing together.
I use single pages, but I imagine the need for this is imported PDF documents that retain their single-page format. Thought is, musicians like the “look-ahead” feature of real spread document. So what ya think, GoodNotes? Worth a revisit?

I do not see the "two page" view of the same document in the Mac version. This is critical because it is highly likely that someone specifically chooses to use a Mac for this feature. Kindly address. Thank you!

I was looking for this too. I can not believe it is not already implemented. I upgraded to Goodnotes 6 and this lack of basic function is starting to make me regret my decision. Get on it already

Yes, my dream feature.

Echoing the sentiment and value of book view! I'm using the app with a digital Bible and being able to view an inserted note page alongside the scripture would be extremely beneficial.

How is it 14/10/23 and I still cannot have a multi-page document in two-page view? (book view)
Very basic feature that has been ignored for years!!

I would like to add to the chorus of comments requesting a double-page “book” view for reading one single document, a feature that almost every other competitor document editor seems to have, even basic free ones that come included with both Apple and Windows environments. This is a very important feature for efficient usability, and it is boggling that after ten years (OP 2013) that this issue has not been accurately addressed. The moderator’s response in 2019 is clearly not what the OP is requesting. Perhaps this whole thread has been deprioritized because of an honest mistake in interpretation of the requested feature. I can only hope that the GoodNotes team will diligently and promptly pick it back up again. Otherwise, I must consider switching to a different application that can support this most basic reader view.

It's been 10 years, and this idea still hasn't been implemented. Using multiple windows to view different pages simultaneously is NOT what we are asking for. A BOOK view is what people want. To be able to view the next page side by side like you would in a book, ex: pages 1 and 2 would be side by side, 3 and 4 side by side, and so on. I don't know about the people at Goodnotes but I never opened up two of the same books to view two pages at once when they are already bound right next to each other. A multi-window 'solution' is not only tedious, it runs the risk of slowing down older computers or draining batteries.

I created this good notes account just for the purpose of 2 page viewing. we need to be able to have both open on screen at the same time. Please allow to be in one window-> one pdf->able to have 2 pages (ex. page 3 and 4, then swipe right to left and we see pages 5 and 6...) showing, in landscape view, at the exact same time, same like reading a book. It is very critical feature.

Just want to add my voice that the native iOS split-screen support isn’t a solution to this at all. That’s not what people were asking for. We need to be able to view more than one page at a time within the document itself, like a normal book, without having to navigate between two different instances.

I completely agree with the comments below, to open the document in multiple windows is not a solution. I have been using good notes for years, I love this app, but this missing feature is so annoying that I am starting to use "piascore" instead, just because I can view two pages and the document looks more like a real book. Please, please could you add this feature?
There is something else in "piascore" that I like very much: at the bottom of the document you can drag your finger over the line of the content of the book and the thumbnails of the pages are displayed. It is very useful to find the content visually without having to go to click - outline - click - exit. And you can see where you are at any time (beginning, middle, end) of the document. This helps when studying to know "how much is left".
Goodnotes is by far a better app, but please many people need this feature

As work around you could implement continuous horizontal scrolling.
That might not be beautiful for double page images, but for textbooks and scientific papers, where you often have diagrams or equations on one page and the corresponding text on the facing page it would work. What you have have now as horizontal scrolling is basically a single page view.
You could keep that as 3. scrolling option (or even implement a page turn/curl effect for those of us who feel nostalgic about paper notebooks. ;) ) -

Hi. I study in a music University in Germany and I am constantly hearing from colleagues the same complaint. We would really like the book view in order to to have quick and easy acces to different parts in our scoresas well as to focus more on what is actualy on the paper rather than scrolling. This means adding the option to view 1-2, or 2-3 (see first odd/even numbered pages).
I am sure many colleagues around the world have the same issue, and so
It is a shame that such a good note taking app lacks of such an useful feature. -

I would agree, it's almost critical to have a 2 page view, would open up many more use cases. The comment from the moderator does not resolve the issue

Running 2 apps separately doesn't help much in using this app
What really helps with using this app is seeing two pages in one app, like reading a book.
All users want this feature, and other apps already support it. Even free apps
The GoodNotes app is a paid app. Please quickly update this function that users need in real life
