Guide lines
Lines to locate the different elements in the page. When you want to align two elements is really difficult because there aren’t any guides that assure you the correct position.
This feature would be optional, I mean, if you want, you could use it and if you didn’t want, you wouldn’t use.

Show guide lines for hand drawn shapes or corrected shapes to show where the center of the other shape is or where the other shapes end.

Temporary guide lines that can be toggled on/off while writing
I would like a feature that allows users to display temporary guide lines (e.g. like on lined paper) while writing on a blank page. These lines should not be part of the page background and should be removable or toggleable at any time, without affecting the handwriting.
This would be helpful for users who want the structure of lined or grid paper during note-taking but prefer a clean, blank page in the final result – for aesthetic or presentation purposes.
Ideally, the guide lines would be:
– Switchable on/off per page or document
– Not affecting the written content
– Customizable in spacing and style (e.g. dotted lines, grid, margin guides) -

1) It would be helpful to have a guide for aligning shapes (as shown in the first image). When we have two shapes—like the two rectangles shown—and rectangle No. 2 is moved upward, a yellow line appears once it’s aligned with rectangle No. 1. This line indicates that the centers of both shapes are now aligned.
2) Sometimes, when drawing, if I try to connect two lines with a new one, it doesn’t align perfectly with the other two (refer to the video). I’m not sure how noticeable this is in the video, as the misalignment is often just a few pixels.

this would be super helpful when your working on notes because it would save so much time from having to draw arrows line and manually line everything up (images, text, writing)

This feature needs to be prioritized ASAP. I make sticker books in Goodnotes by adding PNG files to a Goodnotes book. These are huge books--thousands of PNG files in each one--and I have to resize and position them all manually, which takes forever. Guide lines that pop up when a picture, text box, or shape is the same width or height as the one beside it would make this tedious task SOOO much easier. All design programs have this (Canva, Affinity Publisher, Indesign, etc.). However, my favorite implementation of it is in Figma. Their guides are super simple and intuitive and just feel really good to use. It makes aligning and resizing objects so much easier. Please check out how they do it for an idea of what I mean.
I know Goodnotes was created as a note-taking tool, but there are so many other people out there like me who use it for designing digital sticker books (and some even do planners), that this feature would help. Please give this consideration ASAP!

For example, if I put several photos on a page, I can only align them by eye. It would be nice if there was a guide line that makes it possible to align the photos/stickers etc. properly.

I am starting to use GoodNotes for more and more things and this is definitely a "must have" feature for some of my stuff.

This is currently the only reason that sends me back to use the competitors ( n0t@b!l!ty) app , I wish if this is gets implemented by the team.

Dear Goodnotes,
We are leaving Notability as a school and have started using Goodnotes. My upvote is for the 500 users who will want this. We would love to have this feature available by Fall of 2022 :)

One feature I'm missing is that you can insert guides or a grid into an existing document (in my case the lecture notes). That way you could take notes neatly and straight and when you're done just hide the guides again. That would be great!

When creating shapes it would be helpful to have guidelines that pop up that show...
1. Shapes are aligned and same size eg. a group of squares are the same size and lined up in a straight line
2. Center point for circle, lines, etc when the shape is selected, and snap to center

Please make guides for text boxes so that we can have neater notes! Like what notability has. Thank you!

Guides, ie center edge and picture. So the all picture are in line. Like apple pages.

Have the option to enable/disable guidelines (lines and/or gridlines), while I'm writing on a template, that way I can write on a "straight line" in a blank template for example.

Would be awesome to implement guiding lines for handwriting to improve handwringing on blank paper. So that I can show or hide them when I write on blank paper instead of using lined paper.
Secondly would be to customize writing styles for my Apple Pencil, for example I am using a 1.6 size for the regular text, so if I want to write a headline and I could select a custome setting for "Headline 1" which is a 2.6 size and maybe a different color - like I would do if I would write in word.
