Markdown support in Mac and iPad version
As a developer I would love to have the ability to use markdown on the Mac app for more natural writing flow. And perhaps some more natural Mac feeling when editing files. Like the use of keyboard shortcuts for deselecting a text box (eg. esc)

after working so much with chatGPT, the .md files are a new standard on my laptop - support is here needed and getting more and more important.

It also would be a great way to integrate text from ChatGPT.

Text editing on GoodNotes 6 is still terrible. I totally agree MarkDown should be used instead of the current text editing method. It would be even better if MathJax can be integrated.

This would be huge for me. And would certainly allow me to switch to using (and purchasing) Goodnotes 6 exclusively.

Yes, this would definitely move me away from other note taking apps.

Markdown support in Goodnotes 5, particuarly for iPad, is the feature I want most. I use Obsidian, The Archive, Goodnotes, Notability, Jasper.AI, and Apple Notes. By far, Goodnotes 5 is used the most. I think Notability has better implimentation of a few features; resizing, inking pictures as objects so you only need to select the photo to move it and the writing along with it, handwriting to Math conversion, etc. But I just prefer Goodnotes. Sometimes I think I should rely more heavily on just Notability and Apple Notes and stop using Goodnotes. Adding Markdown support to Goodnotes would make it even less likely for me to stop using Goodnotes.

I suspect you'll never know how important this feature is until you implement it. For technical people, markdown is simply the lingua franca of online writing. It's everywhere, and many technical people simply won't even bother looking at anything that doesn't support it.

Adding Complete Markdown support (not just *Italics*, **BOLD**, but from picture links to Tex equations) to your text field Will essentially End your competitors for note-taking in the markdown space ( like obsidian, zettlr) and reduce people from choosing NOTION
