Read aloud text to me from newspaper scans and PDF books where the paragraphs in each page are organized into columns
I need to do a lot of reading, whether it's class readings or readings that correspond to my interests. The problem is that I don't have time to fit all of it into my schedule. My eyes get tired from all of that reading and I often wish I could just relax my eyes but still listen to the books/articles being read. This would help me keep absorbing information and move forward even when I don't feel like reading. I wish GoodNotes had a feature that could read aloud for me PDF books and scanned articles.
PDF books usually have text that is separated into columns, typically two columns, one on the left and the other on the right. Newspaper articles have even more columns than that. My point is that I would like this feature to be able to recognize how the text is separated into columns and take that into account when reading the text aloud, so that the reading makes sense.
It should also recognize titles and read them a little bit differently to make them stand out from the rest of the text. This will make it clearer when moving on to read a new part of the text. Additionally, it needs to automatically know how to transition into reading the next page, and so on.
It would be great if this feature also allows users the option to highlight a section of text and have GoodNotes read only that specific section. This will help if I just need to read part of a document. Furthermore, I can imagine how it may be useful to students who learn better by reading while also listening to the text being read at the same time.
One thing to consider is that some of the pages I work with might be actual images of a reading without OCR applied to them. They might be a scanned newspaper article, or a scanned image of a printout from class, or even an image imported from online. It would help if GoodNotes could apply OCR to these documents and be able to read them to me.
I really hope this feature gets added because it would help me a lot in my studies! Thank you!!
