Store Temporary Photos
GoodNotes should store all temporary photos that are pending insertion into a document! My elderly father wanted to take a picture of a client and annotate it in GoodNotes later, using the camera feature within GoodNotes. Unfortunately, the temporary photo was not stored because he did not tap on “Use Photo” in the lower right corner. He assumed that the photo would be stored in his photo library when taken, just like it is as soon as you take a picture with the default Camera app on iOS. Now the photo is lost and there is no way to get it back!
Furthermore, my father also wanted to take a second photo, and under the wrong assumption above that a photo is stored automatically when taken, he tapped on “Neu” in an attempt to take a second photo to later paste into the document (in English this means “New”, which is an inaccurate German translation of the “Retake” button in the bottom left). “Neu” does not imply that the previously taken picture is being deleted; the translation of that button should really be more accurate, such as “Erneut aufnehmen”. And, while you’re at it, when tapping on “Neu” (“Retake”) there should really be a confirmation dialog as a precaution, asking something along the lines of “You are about to retake your photo, and your previously taken photo will be discarded. Are you sure you want to proceed?”. Well, now he ended up with no photos at all!
