Removal of Bookmark Icon not Welcome
To make space for the microphone/recording icon (perhaps for the sake of symmetry) the bookmark icon was removed. There is now no visual feedback of for a page being bookmarked.
One on hand, I use this feature with my planner to add the current week to favorites for a quick retrieval. On the other hand I will never use the recording feature.
My dismay at this new development is self evident and so is my wish for a future positive resolution for my quandry.

While they’re in there, I’d love to see multiple colored bookmarks available in the toolbar so I can label pages for different reasons as I go. This would only be helpful if pages can have multiple bookmarks, and not just one at a time. I have different types of information that I need to revisit very quickly on the fly, so retrieving said bookmarks (some kind of filter view, or just a thumbnail view that easily shows which pages have the “green” bookmark for example) is paramount. It would really streamline my workflow and make it so much easier for find information.

Absolutely agree. There’s more than enough space to put the bookmark button back. Or at least let us customize the tool bar so we can keep the icon
