Bullet list / Sub-bullet points
Allow indentation with bullet points on the "Bulleted List" on the new text feature on Goodnotes 5, not just on the first line of bullet points. Similar to how you would take notes using bullet points in Microsoft, Google, or Pages. PLEASE!

Found myself wanting this feature quite a lot when annotating lecture notes and textbooks. Would be a gamechangeer to have multi-level bulleted and numbered lists. Hope this gets picked up by developers soon!

I would just like the overall typing document setting improved to be more similar to google docs. I am thinking it could be an option to select when selecting to create a notebook, folder, or flashcards, etc. The reason this would be useful is because I prefer to have all of my course notes in one place, but currently my notes are split half in half between goodnotes (for my courses in which writing is necessary) and google docs (for my courses in which I really need to be able to type a document for my notes. Having to add a textbox the whole time can be frustrating, and it does not remember font style, size or any other inputs. In addition, expanding the bullet point function would be helpful. Currently you can only do one bullet point, but if it could be altered to be more like google docs where if you click tab it allows "sub" bullet points it would be very useful. Overall, I think adding a more useful typed notes function would improve the use of the app, as you could use it for any class not just the ones that you need to write out notes.

This would save me sooooo much time and make things so much more organized.

Additionally it would be amazing to have the opportunity to define our own symbols for lists. The big dots are destroying every aesthetics in my notes :-)

Within the writing/drawing section!!! It already exists in the keyboard feature but it really really needs to be available for text boxes in the pen feature too.

Great suggestions! Enhancing cross-platform sync and handwriting recognition would definitely improve the Goodnotes experience. On a related note, for users who often customize their workspace, tools like https://bloxstrappc.com/ offer flexibility in managing app behavior, which could complement productivity apps like Goodnotes well.

I’ve been using Goodnotes and really appreciate many of its features. However, I was quite surprised to find that, even in 2025, the app still doesn’t support multilevel bullet or numbering styles (such as 1. → a. → i., etc.), especially considering that this is something even free apps like Google Docs offer..................... Please I need it ASAP

The current bullet styles are a bit garish and oversized. Need to be able to define style for each hierarchy.

Have the nested lists in a movable text box is critical for me. I do a lot of notes where I mix typed and Apple Pencil notes. The nested lists help me keep the overall ideas organized.

Nested bullet points are such a critical feature. I do not understand how this has still not been implemented.

The bullet point icon is great for the first level ( • ), but once you indent / create sub-bullets, the icons are super big and clunky ( ◯ ⬥ ⬦◼️ ... ). I wish there was an option to just use the normal dots ( • ) or dashes ( – ) for all indentation levels.
Example #1:
• text goes here....
• text goes here....
• text goes here....
• text goes here....Example #1:
– text goes here....
– text goes here....
– text goes here....
– text goes here.... -

Bullet point points and numbered list is such a basic feature to make schematics and tidy notes. Text tools really are lacking in Goodnotes.

I’m not in social sciences and I mainly use the freeform mode for my study cards and when I have a text answer, I often type it out via text box - also means I can organize the text how I want (maybe details in smaller and fainter font). I’ll highlight, bold, or change the colour when I need to emphasize. It is annoying to have to click in and out from freeform mode, but if you haven’t tried, this could give you some flexibility in the meantime

This is so badly needed and they need to add the tabbing feature that Microsoft word has

Hi Goodnotes Team,
I really enjoy using Goodnotes for my notes! I wanted to suggest a small feature that would help a lot—the ability to add subpoints or indented bullets in text boxes.
Right now, I can only make one-level lists, but it would be great if we could press Tab or have an option to indent for sub-bullets (like outlining main ideas and details).
Thanks for making such a great app!

- Kindly include an option to disable the bullet function. I would like to use the symbol ‘-‘.
- Add more bullet point symbols. -

This is something I use in Apple Notes on a regular basis and need this as a part of my workflow. I am attempting to switch from Apple Notes to Goodnotes, and this would seal the deal for me.

Since the new OS was released for IPAD, I’ve found that the bullet points are no longer automatic. When I hit enter from the end of a bullet point, the typing goes back to paragraph mode, making it so I have to manually switch back to bullet point with each new line. Can you please correct this to how it was before?
