@jonas this only works on pad. When working on a computer there is no pen icon. You can turn it off in the Edit dropdown but it immediately defaults back on every time you add a new page to your notes

You can turn it off. Tap on the 'pen icon' > 'Writing Aids' > 'Check Spelling'
