Disputing a DoorDash for deactivation
I work for DoorDash and make a salary enough to pay my bills and feed my family. This is my full time job. Checkr had did a background check on me and they reported me guilty on a charge that I am not guilty of. They reported me guilty of Reckless Driving, and because of that I am no longer able to work for DoorDash until they fix the report, which could take up to 30 days. The case they reported is an incident where I got pulled over In Virginia and the cop had tried to charge me with Reckless Driving for going 89 mph on a 70mph speed limit highway. I am a resident in New York, and that is not Reckless Driving in New York. So even with the cop in Virginia knowing it was my first time in Virginia, he still tried to charge me with Reckless Driving. I took him to court, got a lawyer, and the judge had dropped the reckless driving charge which is a Class 1 Misdemeanor. He dropped the misdemeanor charge and charged me with a traffic infraction (traffic ticket) for improper driving. Checkr had failed to report the correct information on my case and it was the reason for my dismissal. My brother recommended to read this article https://www.attorneyhelp.org/guide/guide-to-disputing-a-doordash-deactivation-due-to-checkrs-background-check-error-2278.shtml and reach out to an attorney, but I don’t think I can afford to pay a professional lawyer. Please, share with me your similar situations and help me to resolve this.

Checkr should have a dispute process in place. Make sure you follow it diligently and provide them with all the necessary evidence to correct their report. They should reevaluate and, hopefully, correct the inaccurate information.
