"POST-IT TABS"
One of the major issues in relation to using a digital file, compared to a traditional paper file is that in a paper file you can attach "post-its" to relevant pages which you can then refer to when you are using that file. This is an essential tool for lawyers, for example. So that, if you are referring to a bundle of files, you can have them in front of you where you can see the protruding tabs and refer to them immediately. The visualisation of the tabs – allows for easy access to the relevant page.
Whilst good notes allows you to tab pages – obviously – there are physical differences between hard paper and electronic paper.
However, would it be possible for good notes to try and emulate this by doing the following:
- You have the option of attaching a coloured side tab to the relevant pages;
- You then have the option of "see side tabs"
- When you press that option, the tabbed pages, with their tabs, all shrink slightly and move to the left – allowing you to see the tabs. Then, you can press the tab which opens the page – similar to how this would work in hardcopy.
I attach a photograph by way of example.
Perhaps, something like this could be considered.
Many thanks for taking the time to consider this idea.
Kind regards,
Asim

being able to type notes on the side of pages, or be able to put "post it notes" on a page that we can hide and unhide without taking additional space on the page

it would be cool to have a note "overlay," like how the today view on the iPad home screen can be shown or not. Maybe an indicator that says if you have sticky notes, then slide over to see them on top of the page?
I like how when you choose to export a file, you can select background and annotations or not, it would be great to have the same for sticky notes.

I’ve been able to achieve the look using drag and drop vectors from pixabay. Attached is a page where I have a number I’ve collected. I copy and paste them with lasso tool. ‘Write’ on the with the text tool. Then I can move them around with handwriting deselected on the lasso tool.

This would be so helpful! Need it to annotate articles for university. Especially since there’s no split view. As suggested by a previous comment, putting the stickies on extra pages at the end + page numbers is a great idea!

I hope the developers put this is because this is really helpful when the pdf/file you’re reading has little space for notes!

This would be really nice.
Also with stickie notes it could be nice if there was a way to collapse them into small object that user can then expand. This can be convenient when user wants to leave a note without taking too much real estate in the document. -

Similar to adding a comment when using track changes - the ability to add a text box with a picture or a text box with the ability to type new text into the box. It would be indicated by a small button that would shrink/expand near the existing text in the document.
Would allow you to compare existing language and new or proposed language side by side, without marking up the original document.

This would help a lot if we could have like a little folder that we open and insert our own pictures/ post-its/ PNG stickers and such. THIS is what the app is missing most in order to be most efficient for creative bullet journaling!

I totally support this. We can add post-it notes right now but they take good amount of the space of the screw. It would be great to minimize it once we take the notes on it and only see the icon of the note able to maximize again as we wish
