[Toolbar] Support Customization
Bring back the option to customise the toolbar. I see a recent update has partially returned this feature (allowing to customise the main toolbar options), but this needs to carry over to each toolbar options (pen, pencil, highlighter, etc). Allow reorganising the squeeze pop up menu. This is meant to help streamline productivity, but now having my most used tools all over the place, I’m wasting time scrolling to find them.

Switch back to the customizable squeeze toolbar function. I don't know what the idea was to remove that?

This is still useless! You need to revert back to the level of customisation from GN6.
- Make the Apple Pencil pop up menu customisable like it was in past. Current ok your is useless as I have to scroll to find my most used tools. The pop up is meant to save time, not waste it…- revert the elements menu to appear wherever you click on the screen. It’s a pain to click the element menu, find sticker, click on it, find it in the page somewhere, move it into position, then repeat that all over again for every sticker required.

Hi GoodNotes team and community! I’ve been using GoodNotes for a while now, and I absolutely love how intuitive it is for note-taking and organizing my work. One thing I’ve been thinking about, though, is how much time I spend switching between tools while taking notes—especially during fast-paced meetings or lectures. I often use the pen, highlighter, and eraser the most, but I have to keep going back to the toolbar to switch between them, which can break my flow.
I was wondering if it’d be possible to add a customizable toolbar feature where we could pin our favorite tools for quick access? Maybe a small floating bar or a way to set up shortcuts for our most-used tools (like pen colors, eraser, or shapes) so we don’t have to dig through the main toolbar every time. I think this would make the app even more efficient, especially for power users like me who juggle multiple tools in one session. Has anyone else felt the need for something like this? I’d love to hear your thoughts, and I’m curious if the GoodNotes team has considered this idea before! Thanks for all the amazing work you do! [geometry dash](https://geometrydashfullversion.io/)

The current update (7.0.10) the toolbar aswell as the general typing have changed so much, we surely have issues with it.
There should be an option to completely modify the toolbar to liking. I want customization from the regular toolbar, and the extra toolbar that was removed in the update. (the screenshot is from the previous version, used for orientation)The 3 dots menu should give us an option to toggle the second toolbar (the black one) on or off, and to modify with whatever we want, same with the primary (blue) one.
The new version has a big flaw, for the basic features one needs to click a lot.
I need to “hold + 2-3 clicks” just so I can type on the whole page?
And whenever I place a text block, I need to reclick so I can place another one? This just increases the difficulty and clicks required to fill a list or a table for example. If these happen, then we all would be glad.
1. The tool we’ve picked stays after use!
2. a single button, like in the old version, can start and specifically define full page typing.
3. a full customization of the primary (blue) and secondary (toggleable, black) toolbar, with every feature we’d want and need… INCLUDING the easy single tap switch of colors, text elements and quick add of image.
4. an optional but very much appreciated color customization, both hue and maybe even saturation including white - black colors, some examples in IMG_1138 and beyond. So long story short, there should be an option between minimalism, functionality and easy access.
Thank you, please regard this. -

The eraser and the toolbar in Goodnotes 6 is frustrating me, please solve the problems below:
1- allow to have the option to not erase once we start scribling in the writing or drawing
2- it does not switch smoothly between the pen and eraser, i have to tap in the apple pen multiple time to switch (there is no substence preventing the pen from responding and i selected that the sensitivety to be high and the problem was not solved)
3- i cannot custumize the toolbar easily and i want to add the Zoom in the quick access and i don't seem to find out how -

You've clearly articulated the problem of extra taps for common tool switching (Lasso ↔ Pen, Eraser ↔ Shape) and https://www.ez-passoh.com offered a robust solution:
Fully flexible main toolbar
Free reorder via drag-and-drop
Show/hide options
Optional multi-row layout
This would certainly reduce friction in dense annotation and allow users to tailor the experience to their muscle memory, mirroring professional creative apps. It's a great suggestion for improving workflow efficiency.

TL;DR
Allow any tool—Pen, Eraser, Highlighter, Shape, Lasso, Image, etc.—to live side-by-side in one toolbar row with free reorder, show/hide, and (optionally) multi-row layouts.Problem
After 7.0.6, Lasso sits outside the main toolbar and Pen/Eraser are locked in “handwriting tools.” Switching between Lasso ↔ Pen, Eraser ↔ Shape costs extra taps during dense annotation.Proposal
• Make the toolbar fully flexible:
• Place any tool on the main bar; reorder via long-press drag.
• Show/hide tools to keep the bar compact.
• Optional multi-row layout for users who prefer more tools visible.Impact
• Reduces 1–2 taps per switch across hundreds of switches in long study sessions.
• Mirrors workflows in pro creative/notes apps where users tailor the toolbar to their muscle memory.Environment
• Goodnotes 7.0.10 (iPad)
• Apple Pencil; heavy PDF annotationThank you for considering.

It would be great if you could add in the option to customise the position of writing tools. For instance, I’d rather have the pen, highlighter, and eraser function visible, and hide all of the other writing tools.

Zoom window:
This is a very usefull tool for writing and I'm disappointed that it keeps getting regressed.
Suggested improvements :
1. Available in one click in toolbar, unlike current double clicks each time
2. Provide custom toolbar within zoom tool for erase, pencil color, shading color and lasso tool. It is very frustrating and time-consuming to move to the top each time to change color or shader or eraser everytime. -

The new toolbar divides the users of goodnotes, so let us customize the toolbar and shortcuts such as bookmark and select documents.
Let the user choose if we want a separate or unique toolbar, or choose which icons we want on our toolbar and remove the one we don't use.
This will create a more personalized and fluid experience. And also add back the photo modification when on the photo icon and not only with the lasso tool, this will also reduce the interferences when using the lasso tool without always change the lasso preferences.

Please bring back the ability to customize the pallet when using the Apple Pencil. I can't arrange how I want my tools to be laid out as there are limited options in the "customize toolbar" option. I want the tools like, lasso, pen, text, image, tape, to be where I want them to be in the pallet. The whole point of the pallet is to make things easier to click, which when I have to take 2 to 4 steps or have to swipe up to use the tool that I want it's annoying. Especially for the fact that this used to be an option and now its not...

I agree. Let us choose how to organize the toolbar. I find it unnecessary to have 2 or 3 sections with their own overflow/hidden menu. Just let us place the tools we use most often directly on the bar (that includes different „pens“ like highlighter and eraser and also now hidden tools like the ruler or the zoom writing window). Absolutely everyone has their own opinions/needs on this. So it would be best to just let us organize this ourselves.
It would also be great if we could reorder the overflow menu to our liking.
Sadly, i don’t own an iPad compatible with the Squeeze Apple pencil. But if I did (or in the future) I absolutely would like to customize that menu too ;)!
PS: Since you got a lot of flak for the sept 25 ui rework: I like the floating toolbar. It doesn’t take up more vertical space than the previous toolbar did. I can flick it to side so it only obscures page margins or even hide it completely while still being able to write/highlight. This is great!

Hello! I would like to give feedback about the latest update.
The “Zoom / Magnifier Window” (Vista ampliada) is now located only on the floating blue toolbar at the top of the screen.
Before, I could place it next to the Pen tool, and that made my handwriting workflow fast and ergonomic.
Now I have to reach the top toolbar every time, which interrupts my workflow and slows me down.
Please bring back the ability to move the Zoom tool next to the Pen, or allow us to customize its position again.
This is extremely important for users who take intensive handwritten notes.
Thank you! -

Please bring back the toolbaar customisation.
While taking my notes, i really want to see all the colours like before, without having to do many steps so that i can be efficient and quick.I don’t want to select an extra option of pen and then to swipe through the colours again and again.
Thank you.

Doubling down on the recent elements toolbar being taken away - this makes editing pages harder bc of the pop up windows. Would love the option to have the recent elements in the tool bar so that I can edit fun pages easier and quickly

Jacquie Moore commented
Please bring back the recent elements into the tool bar or give an option to. When you split screen and have to drag each one into the document it’s very time consuming and messes up the layers

With the new GoodNotes update, the ability to customize the toolbar has decreased. In turn, getting accustomed to this has added some overhead to my note-taking. Here are some suggestions I have:
1) Be able to rearrange the order of tools in the bar, including the lasso tool and record tool
2) Customizing the width of the dropdown tools, such as the pencil bar. I find that the pencil drop-down bar is too narrow and often find myself scrolling for the colours I want to use. If it were wider, I wouldn't have to scroll as much, I could put more colours in the bar, and I could add additional pencil size presets.
3) Customized toolbar colour themes
4) Option to put the drop-down toolbars back into the main toolbar (with customized width), so it saves space.
