Enhancement in the layers that are currently under consideration
I have seen many comments about the requests for layers, but none that mentioned exactly the things that I would like to see, so forgive me if this is a duplicate of pieces from a couple of individual ones that I may have missed the wording to:
Noteful added the ability to create specific layers on top of a PDF, and this is fantastic. I can write my specific notes on top of scanned in meeting minutes, program notes, notes about anything my kids are doing, I just scan a picture of the meeting agenda into a pdf, load it, and make a layer and capture my notes. If a friend needs a copy of the agenda, I can send that. If they need my notes, I can send that. If I want to send them a copy of the agenda AND my notes, I can send that. If I want to make snarky comments that are just for me, that I DON'T want to share with someone else, I can stick those on a different layer, and NOT share those, while still sharing the other layers. What would make this better would be the ability to NAME the layers. Like Layer 1: Background, Layer 2: Notes, Layer 3: Comments, Layer 4: Snark... so that I can turn on and off what I wanted easier when I went to export a document. I know that what we can currently do with sending things to the front and to the back is a good start, but it really only helps with making cute stickers and post-its... it really doesn't help in a larger layer application like this.
And it would be great to be able to add a LOT of layers, and give each of them a name. The ability to label each layer when exporting would make it easier to make sure we have exactly what is intended printed or shared.
Layers should be fully available for note sharing and collaboration, with the ability for the different parties to add separate layers to the document, add their own mark-ups, comments, additions, on TOP of the original document, It might be a great way to utilize an endless canvas for this type of purpose, if the margins needed to be expanded to capture additional notes that were outside the margin. But keeping those notes on a different labeled layer that can be reviewed by the author.
I really enjoy the program. I use several programs because no ONE program seems to have all the perfect pieces that I am looking for. Each misses pieces. Noteful doesn't have collaboration. Another doesn't record, Goodnotes doesn't have layers, etc. But that you take suggestions from your customers and try to help work out the kinks and add in new features says a LOT about your company, and I appreciate that.
Thanks.
