I read lot of historical documents and it is such a pain to stop reading and go through this motion of adding it to outline. A simple keyboard stroke like CMD+O or CMD+SHIFT+O would be enough. that way I don't have to stop the flow of reading to perform this action. I hope next minor release can address this issue. If the action to add to outline was on the main menubar then atleast I can create Mac keyboard shortcut. But that is not the case either.
Same thing is true for adding it to bookmark, breaks the flow of reading just like adding page to outline
Also I agree with Allen's comment about Hierarchy for outlines, it is easy to create chapters and sub pages which can be collapsed like pdf outlines.
