Convert Hand Written Notes to Text to the Same Page, additional feature to the export in converted to text.
Please please add a feature to convert hand written notes to the same page. You offer to export the converted hand written notes to text, but you should allow to change the notes in the fly to the same page you converted. Please! Your note application will supersede all others with this feature!

Yeah, text features are important. I learn German and do annotations on my classbook with Goodnotes. Sometimes my teacher explains about a word‘s especific use, that depends on the text’s context. Apple’s iBook let you select a word and make annotations about that word. Goodnotes has only highlight, strikeout, define and copy as options, when a word is selected. You guys could add the comments item. It’s a simple, ordinary item, but I miss it a lot when not available!

| want to convert handwriting to text in real time like Nebo or scribble. But,I want to be able to select the font. This would be fantastic for people with bad handwriting

All the handwriting features are very useful! Agree! But sometimes I would wish we can also search for text in paste screenshots or graphics —> like the search for handwritten notes.
Big thanks for your amazing product!

Please add write to text feature and also allow the option to turn off autocorrect. I found with other apps write to text with autocorrect words in other languages.

Agree with the above comments.
I am using Nebo just because the conversion process is quicker. When you are writing all day the extra messing around with cut and paste slows you down.
This is ruining what is an excellent app

Yes! Especially if I could choose a nice architect style font as my handwriting is a mess! :D

Todas las apps de notas tienen esta caracteristica de convertir escritura a mano en un solo paso, es una pena que Goodnotes no tenga algo tan basico.
All note apps have this feature of converting handwriting in one step, it is a disappointment that Goodnotes does not have something so basic. -

It has been long time we have been waiting for this feature. Please, make it priority otherwise handwriting recognition loses most of its value. I think we all got the shock of not being able to convert our handwritings smoothly when we first used Goodnotes. Being able to do that in in real time while typing would be fanstastic!

I have both Nebo & Goodnotes... they have different usage.
The feature you are talking about is indeed very much useful BUT the UX requires A LOT of work - Nebo's UX is not great & you need to get used to it.
So I am not sure it would be worth the effort... or it would bring much frustration to the usage of Goodnotes.
Why don't you use Nebo to convert & then copy / paste into Goodnotes?
Having a super app which does everything is a pleasant thoughts but not necessarily THE solution. You could request Nebo to copy so much of Goodnotes features in this case... or maybe have you? :)

Goodnotes should listen to your customers. Improve those functions that we asked. Or u will lose your customers to other apps

I would upvote Stuart’s comment if I could: My Script Nebo is where you need to look for inspiration on this.

Hi there! I noticed that the text conversion feature works pretty nice. However, it only offers the option to copy the converted text. It would be great to hve the option to simply replace the hand-written text with the converted one. Notability offers that option and it would be a good improvement to Goodnotes 5

I would really love that!

I guess a quick implementation would be, adding a button „Replace“ on the „convert to machine text“ page. This would replace the selection by the machine text

Any update seems to be a killer feature missing
Being able to convert handwriting to text in the notebook with a tap.

Since you can convert handwritten text only by selecting it with the lasso tool, it'd be great if you can export the entire handwritten Document as a Text to PDF.
According to customer support, this already happens when you export your document to PDF with the 'Enable Handwriting Recognition'-Option enabled, but the text is stored on a different layer of the PDF used for searching the handwritten as the handwritten Text is still displayed on the PDF.

Can we take convert to text a step further by allowing the text to be added back to the notebook. Similar to how Noteshelf does it

Take a look at My Script Nebo. The app itself is in most ways inferior to GoodNotes, but the new implementation of handwriting to text in the app really is superb. I believe that they licence it? Maybe explore licensing it off them, because its easily the best I’ve found at recognising handwriting. The actual implementation they have of it needs polish, but the raw handwriting recognition engine really is superb. Not having this is a big drawback for GoodNotes, because it means that text that you intend to edit later, for example writing a story or a novel, or any book for that matter, simply is not possible in GoodNotes. It is fine for notes, but not for any serious writing, because you can’t convert the handwriting to text. With the new IpadOS and IOS 13 operating systems this will become increasingly important, because the drop in pencil latency to 9ms (or actually 13 I believe, as 4ms of it isn’t accessible to non-apple apps currently) from 20ms, means that its going to be much nicer to use. GoodNotes is useless for long form writing, and yet, if it had the handwriting text converter of My Script Nebo, then it would become much more practical to write every day in GoodNotes, then convert the handwriting to text, and export it to a dedicated editor app like Ulysses or Scrivener. Please add this! My Script Nebo currently has the only implementation of handwriting to text that actually works without being annoying.

Please add this function. The current solution is too much hassle and destroys the work flow.
With my ugly handwriting this is so essential
