Convert Hand Written Notes to Text to the Same Page, additional feature to the export in converted to text.
Please please add a feature to convert hand written notes to the same page. You offer to export the converted hand written notes to text, but you should allow to change the notes in the fly to the same page you converted. Please! Your note application will supersede all others with this feature!

Converting handwriting into text automatically without the need of using the lasso / copy paste process. That can be great and make everything so simple. Thank you!

Please let me describe the use case.1. write note. 2. have note converted to replace handwriting.
I have just bought goodnote and love what it can do but as far as I can see my basic use case takes a whole heap of steps. I mean yes I can do it but is it 7 or 8 steps, sorry I lost count.1. write stuff. 2 press button to convert written stuff to typed stuff. Repeat.
Please. Thank you.

I m shocked that this feature is not there. I m seriously thinking to return the app just because of this reason. How come guys can you pass this while putting handwriting support?

Miss this, too. I can see that it works fine converting my handwriting, but I can‘t copy or use the converted text. I‘d love to convert handwritten notes to printed text.

I will keep using and recommending Nebo until Goodnotes has this feature. There is zero reason to handwrite on a digital device without full round-trip handwriting conversion. Anything less is just a party trick.

It has struck me as strange that converting written hand notes to text in the same page wasn't done before the exporting option. I concur strongly with this request.

When converting to text, it would be epic if converted writing appeared in the same location, similar font size and the same colours as handwriting.
You should be able to convert text back to handwriting on the fly.

I agree that this missing functionality was a concern when purchasing this app. An easier with to convert notes to text is needed. On the fly conversion would be nice.

I just bought a copy of GoodNotes to work with ios11 and my ipad pro/pencil. I want an app to take notes and an occasional sketch. The handwriting recognition works great - but like others have commented - there's no way to put it back (easily) into my notes. Ideally, I would like to select my text and do a "convert to text box" without having to export to the clipboard, create a new text box and then paste.
My search for a note taking app continues. I wish Apple/developers had a trial mode without having to buy the app first. In this case a 10 minute trial would have told me what I needed to know. If it had worked, I would have bought the Mac version too and used the syncing.

Yes like Nebo, but keeping both the handwritten formatting as well as the converted text. Ideally I think you should be able to switch between handwritten mode (input) and converted mode (viewing only). When exporting you could get both a handwritten page with all the niceties that follow with that, as well as a properly formatted page with converted text.

Yes! Like Nebo. This is the only reason I'm still looking for another app. I've tried them all. If you had this feature I'd have no need to look elsewhere. I jot down notes during lectures but then I have to type them up properly when I get home, this feature would save me so much time during editing,

Since the OCR capability works for handwritten notes, please provide the option to convert the handwriting to typewritten text for a selection, page or entire document.

At the moment the 'goodnotes' application allows me to hand write notes with the Apple Pencil. Then select the writing -- and -- you have a convert to text option, in which you copy & paste the text back into the document; *or where ever.
It would be great if you could switch on a mode, where in, your handwriting is automatically recognised, maybe as you finish writing a paragraph, the hand writing automatically turns into 'text' / typed text.
Hopefully that makes sense, sort of like the Microsoft studio, when I write on the screen with the stylus, in google, the hand writing is converted to text for the google search window ...

I have seen this suggested before, but it doesn't seem to be gaining traction.
I take a lot of meeting notes and would love the ability to (all at once) convert pages of notes into text. It would be great if the feature could recognize outline formatting and include bullets numbers etc... The cherry on top would be the ability to easily export the text to a word processor such as Microsoft Office Word.
This would make it very easy and fast to take notes, format them in Word, and send them to clients. Would literally save me hours. You already have a great search feature that recognizes hand writing so I imagine this could be doable. Thanks!

I found that the search tool has a very very good text recognition capabilities, so I think that maybe you can add a tool to recognize all book to export as text or simply convert to text in good notes, without a huge effort. I hope you can include this feature because it could be very helpful to printing and to share content with other apps.

Yes! And it would be good if it is possible to compare the converted text window to the handwritten original so the user could correct the typos to the converted text before pasting/exporting/appending it elsewhere.
