'Send to Back', 'Send to Front", 'Send Backward', 'Send Forward'
Like in any application you can send images or objects backward, forward, etc. Would be great to have this especially when you want the handwritings to overlap with images or vice versa, or when you need to edit it.
When I was still using a Samsung Note 8, I was able to do this so, im pretty sure the mighty iPad Pro can do it as well :)
its pretty basic since many of the applications already in iOS do this. Would love for this basic feature to be available. if it already is, please... someone help me!

People have been asking for layers (they are already in similar apps) but with every release it seems like they are doing everything but what people want.

It’s 2021 and this feature is not yet available. :( or am i just missing something…hope GN will soon add this feature, it’ll work tons when editing notes. :)

Could you insert the “send to back/front” function? Because this Will became most easy to edit after use.

Jatin Soni, Thank you for that workaround. I was pulling my hair out trying to get my text on top of an image.

Just by missing this feature, this app deserve 2 stars drop. It is not difficult isn't it

I, too, cannot believe such a basic feature is missing in the app.
For anyone who is looking for a workaround.
For understanding, I am explaining text and background elements such as photo or background.
1. Cut the text
2. Place the background
3. Paste the textSo now, the background should place behind the text, and text should be on the front.

I'm finding this very annoying too. The only workaround I've got is to select the item I want to move from a back layer to a front layer, then copy and paste. The duplicate object is now on the top layer and I delete the source item. But I agree, this is a really clunky workaround.

Just use Cut and paste. The latest item cut will be paste on top of all items.

Lock layers! I have a digital planner and like to make new templates for the pages and it is a bear to work with when I use an image background I cannot lock. :/

Anyone know if there are any intentions on adding this? Seriously having to consider switching to another platform that offers this.

i would love layers- similar to in procreate. lockable layers.... would be so nice for digital day planners that are undated!!!!

I came here thinking that I was just unable to locate the feature. Never considered that the app would simply neglect to add it.

I would love to see this. It would be very helpful for using the app as a planner, which many do.

Yaaaaassss! Would be a great feature to be able to trace a design!

This is seriously a major drawback to this app. It’s impossible to add pictures/drawings/stickers/really anything without needing to change the order/position of the objects. Sure you can still layer things, but you have to know before adding practically anything to your document what your plan is, or realize you want to do something else and delete everything in the area to restart it. This would be impossible in a class situation with a professor blazing through ideas and on a time crunch. 90 of the time I just end up doing part or all of my project in procreate.
