Its 2024 and this still isn't available. The lasso tool for converting handwriting to math is amazing. PLEASE do it to convert handwriting to text directly without having to select, cut, paste.

Noteshelf 2 does this beautifully.

You write some text with the pen, use the lazo tool, select convert to text and then in the edit box you click the button to convert to text and it replaces your handwritten text with clean text.

I'd love to use good note but without this feature the workaround is just to painful and ands too much friction

Is it possible to convert text to other languages like Portuguese?

Does this still exist in GoodNotes? I know you can search handwriting, but can you toggle between your handwriting and a typed version of it?

I thought this feature was available before. I cannot find the option now. It's needed, I like the handwritten notes but sometimes having the text converter works will for some official documents.

Myscript is horrible, and even if it worked well enough to be useful it would require inserting a text box. Native support should allow automatic conversion of handwriting without having to create a text box.

So no need to add this in GoodNotes

On Goodnote 4, you can do it, but you need to (1) select the text and then (2) "convert" it, (3) then copy, then (4) add a text box, and (5) then paste. Please AUTOMATIC HANDWRITING TO TEXT!
Please, add a simple switch to automatic handwriting to text when you write, and put a beautiful handwriting typography.

OCR is a must if GoodNotes is to displace NotesPlus. Please add so we can have this important update.

I have been using Goodnotes for quite a while now. And I keep on saying, what a great App. But if OCR is added this would make this App amazing. And now I'm stumbling over this "GoodNotes ideas" site and notice, I'm not the only one ... Therefore please add!! But as a post processing tool.

The feature to convert handwriting-to-text is coming as a standard feature to SMART phones and tablets. If it is not provided soon for Goodnotes, somebody else will do it. Handwritten notes are great if you are not sharing the information.

This is the #1 tool that will shoot Goodnotes straight to the top. With this addition nobody will even be close.

With 800 + votes it is currently the #3 idea from us users. Let's get this added to the Planning Group yesterday!

This is the deciding factor. Competitors are getting close. Avoid becoming a 'Nokia'. Pay for the royalties of you need to. I would pay for an add-on. GoodNotes rules, please make it perfect.

My script + goodnotes would be a killer

I'm not a fan of this idea.

I have used this in other apps, and it is slow and clunky. If tags were implemented, it would give 80%of the usability (searching) with the speed of just handwriting.

OCR is just painful to use and not worth the hassle.
