Dedicated Rectangle tool
To draw a simple rectangle using the Shape Tool takes too much time and is also prone to error (often not getting straight angles). Much better would be a dedicated rectangle tool, where start at one edge and open diagonally a rectangle. This would be much faster and less annoying to use.

Yes yes yes -that's exactly what annoys me incredibly. You almost can't get it straight.
Please make a rectangle tool as described above. That opens diagonally.
As i use this feature almost every day. (probably not only me)

+1 for the rectangle tool. It would be extremely helpful when studying from a book, if I could simply draw a rectangle around a formula or paragraph, just as in Readdle's PDF Expert. It is one of my most used features there.

Even better would be a simple subset of the graphics tools in the old MacDraw/Clarisdraw program. Have the ability to call up the set of drawing tools on the left side of the screen when you need them and then dismiss them when you are done. NoteTaker HD by Software Garden had some of these features which is part of the reason it is still hanging around even though it has neither handwriting recognition nor recording capabilities. The ability to draw competent simple flowcharts, floor plans and diagrams within a notebook is wonderful. You can leave the complex drawing to the big boy graphics programs. We need the simple stuff for notebooks.
Thank you,
