Background Colors of PDF for Eye Health
Changing the color to green or yellow, will make pdf reading more friendly to eyes.
Many people using goodnotes to read pdfs will stare at the screen for a long time, but now the white color is a bit harsh and tire eyes.
Another app PDF Expert is just well-known for its protecting yellow color. Hope goodnotes will add the function.

Most PDF files use black text color on a white background but it would be really helpful to have the option in Goodnotes to invert or change those colors. For example, switch the background color to a dark color (for example, black or gray) and the text color to a bright color (for example, white or yellow). I can do this in some Windows and Android apps but there is currently no iPad PDF annotator that can do this. I love Goodnotes 6 and it is my most-used daily app for all my PDF reading and note-taking, so it would be absolutely fantastic if this feature was finally added! I noticed that this feature was first requested in 2019!
I use my iPad extensive every day, mostly to read PDFs and annotate PDFs using Goodnotes 6. I use it during the day, as well as at night when i go to bed. But the white background on the PDFs is too bright and it hurts the eyes. As a Goodnotes 6 premium user, I have already explored and tested the app settings, including general iPad brightness, colors and the dark mode, but the reading experience is very poor compared to being able to change the PDF page background color and text color, which would be ideal. Please consider this humble request to save our eyesight!!
Here is an interesting read from the National Library of Medicine, "The Effect of Ambient Illumination and Text Color on Visual Fatigue under Negative Polarity". https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11175232/

This is a eye-saver thing. I have to switch to PDF Expert and some other PDF readers with this feature from time to time just to reduce my eye fatigue in Goodnotes.

I do agree with you, Sophronia. The yellow color in the background makes my eyes more healthy and less tired if I'm reading huge amounts of texts. For the PDF format, I'm using the app you mentioned, PDF expert. For the fb2 formats, I prefer the FB reader application. When I read the normal books, I use the proper lens for reading with a yellow filter to keep my eyes in a good state, because due to my work purposes, I read for 10-8 hrs per day, so this is very important to use the proper lens. Usually, I buy a lens at the https://www.cosplaylens.com site at an affordable price.

I have never thought that colours have such a huge impact on eyes health while reading. I will reasearch this a little bit.
