Mac App power consumption way too high
It frequently takes up 97% of CPU power on a 2017 Macbook Pro 13-inch, and the fan on my mac just shouts like crazy (like fighter jets taking off from a carrier).

Same problem here on a 13 in MBP 2017 with 2 thunderbolts. The thing is, on my m1 mac Goodnotes takes less than 4 percent of CPU at any given moment be it while I'm exporting or just reading my notes. It's super silent. I think it's because of that fact that it is much much more optimized to be used on ARM chips so maybe that's causing our intel computers to work super hard. Kind of an inconvenience as I find myself having to export my documents as PDF just so I can read them without the computer trying to take off.

I bought GoodNotes 5 for MacOS (MacBook Pro 2017) today and I'm regretting it. I can't use my pen tablet with Google Meet or something else because my writing just hangs. GoodNotes has peak CPU usage of 90% and my CPU fan spins like crazy...
So bad, because it's a good piece of software, but I just can't write on it while using other apps like Google Meet or Teams...

Yeah, I was trying to figure out for ages why my Mac's cooling fan was throwing a fit, so I started closing apps, and seriously not even a minute after I shut off goodnotes (Which was only running in the background!!) the fan shut off and my mac was back to normal. Checked the activity monitor and it's easily taking up as much space on my CPU while running in the background as Minecraft when I'm actually PLAYING the game.

It uses a lot of CPU power and causes the fans to crank up
