I belong to all of the comments below and also the situation when you have a document with some text and you’ve already marked important parts und then needs to do some extra notes. If you later want to erase the notes you also need to erase the marker.

Seconding the most recent comment by Yunseo. Being able to erase only pen when using the tape is a critical feature. If I make a mistake while writing on top of the tape I would love to be able to erase just my writing and not reveal what's underneath the tape in the process. (It also doesn't make sense for tape to be erasable, but for some reason it's easier to erase only tape [or only highlighting] than it is to erase handwriting.) I was expecting it to be like washi tape when I saw this option existed. Now, just checking Notability to see what their tape feature is like, I see that they also seemed to think of it as washi tape because their colors have patterns on them.

I would like this feature as well, especially when I am using tape feature. My eraser erases everything including the tape, but I would like it to erase pen only. This is very handy when studying.

I would like to have this function as well since I also use the highlight to fill color in the shape to present some simple idea. I want to edit only the handwriting (mispelling or edit info) that already filled with highlight, so I don’t have to delete all the hightlight in that shape and color it again. (Sometimes it’s a big shape).

I’ve thought of this as well and I’d loved to have this feature because I handwrite all of my notes, often using the shape and fill color feature, though if I need to change something I wrote in said shape, I have to do a lot maneuvering to keep the box there (rather than making a new one). Also, it’d be nice to do this if u mess up on normal notes that are highlighted in case you spelled something wrong and dont want to go through the hassle of erasing and rehighlighting.
