Adding the OCR-Layer afterwards
I had scanned a text with an scanner that dosen't has the function to adding an OCR-Layer to the PDF-file. (You have to know that the OCR-Layer is the function for GoodNotes/the iPad to read the words in that file). That's why I am not able to search the words from this scan at the searching-tool. I thought that it would be nice having the function to add this layer after you already scanned the document from an extern device. I use an extern scanner because the quality is much better than that from the iPad-camera.
With that function it would be possible again to search for the words in this PDF-file again even if the OCR-layer isn't added in advance.

Adding an OCR layer to a PDF file after it's been scanned with an external scanner would be really helpful. It can be frustrating not being able to search for specific words in a scanned document, especially if the quality is much better than that from the iPad camera. You can try using IDanalyzer. It's an ID scanner that has OCR functionality https://www.idanalyzer.com/products/prime-id-scanner.html and can extract text from scanned documents. It might be worth checking out and seeing if it can help you add an OCR layer to your scanned documents so you can search for words in GoodNotes.

That sounds a total bummer about the scanner not having an OCR layer. But hey, don't sweat it! With intelligent engines like automatic and eco-friendly document scanning and OCR, you can add that OCR layer to your scanned docs even after you've observed them. Now, you'll be able to search those words in your PDF like a boss. Program Smart Engines https://smartengines.com/ are automatic and eco-friendly, saving you time and paper. With this feature, you could have the best of both worlds - high-quality scans from your external scanner and the ability to search for words within the file.

It's frustrating to have a high-quality scan but not be able to search for words within the file.
