Do not block my HD with Dropbox Backup with GBs in cache
I'm using the backup feature together with my dropbox. Whenever I'm commenting a PDF, after each edit, Goodnotes saves a backup on dropbox, which after a while leads to +30GB of dropbox cache. (That is, it fills my free hard disk space completely.) This can only be solved deleting the cache manually. There is no such problem with my dropbox using any other app. Please help! (I'm on a Mac, using Goodnotes for iPad, all OS updated to newest version.)
It sounds like you have enabled the “Automatic Backup” feature to Dropbox, which is expected to exactly what you described. You can disable it in Menu > Settings > Automatic Backup.

I have the same problem, and I agree with Dennis that this must be a bug. It took me some time to find out why I had lost 500GB (indeed) in my HD. After erasing the dropbox cache, it immediately started filling up again and in one day it was already 100GB large! It is a bit ridiculous that it seems to copy into the dropbox cache one copy of the entire file I am working on everytime I make a small change. As I have been working entire days on goodnotes, this very quickly fills my HD. I also use Notability and other apps which backup automatically and I do not have this problem. I will have to drop this app if this problem is not fixed quickly.

Thank you for your quick but unuseful reply. As I'm writing in my first sentence, I know that I'm using backup, and also, I want to use it. I appreciate finding goodnotes- and pdf-files in my regular dropbox folder. But server-to-local sync in Dropbox works via a (hidden) _cache_ folder. I am very sure, that it is neither expected nor desired to have it filled with 30GB of trash. GoodNotes is the only app that causes this problem, therefore I suspect a "special feature", or a bug, in the goodnotes sync.
