Infinite Canvas
The biggest pro of digital note taking is the boundaries of traditional one and paper that it breaks.
Studies have shown that learning efficiency and understanding of a subject is increased by higher order learning and mind mapping. For these techniques, an infinite canvas is needed.
It would be highly appreciated if this function would be added.
Thank you.

I ask you to add the freeform feature ASAP.
Being your (otherwise satisfied) daily user, my workflow is heavily dependent on your (otherwise great) app.
I urge you to comply, or I'll go back to pen and paper and turn the Amazon rainforest into a paper-pile of worthless ideas.
All jokes aside, you're messing with your own children's futures here! -

I agree with all of the users, I understand why you may handle every page as a separate file but it makes it really hard to shift things around or connect ideas when you are a student. Connecting ideas is very important especially on powerpoint PDFs that are provided by teachers. I made the switch to Good Notes from notability because of the beautiful interface but now I am considering switching back due to this feature not existing in Good notes.

This would be so great!! To not have to keep creating new pages and having breaks between them interrupting the workflow thought flow.

By visiting a barbershop, you will get a new and truly unique experience. Many of them are set in old, historic buildings, which give the atmosphere a real and realistic feel of the classics. Some are bright and modern, while others are vintage and homey. Most have free drinks and many barbers are happy to chat with you about anything.
So, no matter which interior you prefer, you will most likely find a barbershop that will suit your preferences. https://premiumbarbershop.com/services/ -

But is it possible to retain that feature of selecting which pages to export by treat each page as an individual file but still has a feature like OneNote where it is able to take notes outside of the pages if the imported pdf pages are too small and no space to write on? Bcs it will be very useful to students as we have a lot to write on notes that reference to the original notes in the page but sometimes the pages are just not big enough

This was my request a few days ago! I would love to have just one continuous page in vertical mode

This is the single feature that could force me to go elsewhere for my sketchnoting app. Without it, there are always imposed LIMITS to idea development and recording. Please, please consider adding this!

Would like an infinite canvas option like drawnote on android or endless paper where you can keep zooming in.

This is a very important function.I hope u engineers can make another framework for user to choose rather than telling us u can’t do it under the current framework

Users have been requesting this since 2016!
I believe users only want an option to have freeform/infinite pages versus replacing the main framework. Such as NEBO they have regular notes/documents and a freeform page
And you can export it as a whole as a pdf/png/svg etc
PLEASEE THIS WOULD MAKE THE APP SUPERIOR instead of having to use multiple different apps.

Really wish we could have infinite scrolling on at least one page template. Particularly infinite horizontal scrolling.

There should be a specific note type that is in infinity note size. It doesn’t have to be an actually infinity note because that could get very hard to use. Apples Freeform app starts each page at 100% zoom but you a zoom in to 400% or zoom out to 10%.

Absolutely . This would be fantastic feature. Would make goodnotes a clear winner toward competition. I switch between goodnotes and concept for this feature.

I too would like to work with an infinite canvas. I agree with the user who mentioned the unwanted breakdown of a train of thought. My notes often combine text and graphical elements / diagrams, and I rarely can predict how they will evolve re: shape and size. Having an infinite canvas would be great. Remember this? "Since random access memory is restricted to 640K, multitasking and graphical user interfaces are not feasible with the current framework."

please, an infinite canvas would be critical to my studying.
you could add a new type of file, instead of a notebook just an infinite canvas or "project". it is so fundamental for proper mindmapping and brainstorm.
thank you :) -

I don’t particularly like the feature of pulling up to get a new page

In 2023, there are many more infinite canvas software, such as hepatabase, obsidian, and logseq, but they do not have such mature handwriting technology as goodnotes. Maybe we can consider adding a function to create infinite canvas while retaining the current framework. Or is it a good way to simply re-create a software that focuses on handwriting infinite canvas?

It is insane that this isn't already a feature. If having discrete pages is the limiting factor, it seems like the obvious solution would be to have an infinite grid of pages displayed with zero gaps between them, then only the "pages"where the user has written something would be saved to the notebook. This may have been too hardware intensive once upon a time, but there is no excuse with modern tablets
