Audio recording that syncs with handwritten notes
We need linked audio recording so that we won't miss anything in the class or in meetings!
The reason behind the success of NOTABILITY is the audio recording functionality, I use notability just for that!
Please add it.

Guys, I can understand this problem.
This feature will not be available in GoodNotes unless they take a chunk out and create a mixing audio tape mode.
Each of the pages in the GoodNotes document is a fully separate doc sheet. As mentioned in another idea for infinite sheets.
I think, unless they create a audio recording common to the document, as per the document standards, it seems it could be possible. They can extend the current doc format which supports the page framework to allow audio files. Having a mix-tape like recording, attaching the page ID to each touch of stroke, would be necessary. and definitely, not a better method of recording and syncing.
Highly likely, that this feature be released, if they ever attempt to provide the infinite canvas feature. Otherwise, this feature will never see light in Goodnotes.
It is just costly in terms of sync methods & storage to put all this data in the framework that Goodnotes uses.

Quite surprised they haven’t added this feature yet along with adjustable eraser size, and hand-written math equation recognition. I think adding these features would make it the best overall note-taking application on the iPad.

Please, please add this feature, even if it costs extra as an in-app purchase. It will make it easier to understand the context we wrote our notes in, such as students who can record lectures, or people note-taking during meetings, and it will help most of your users overall. It will make your app a definite choice over competitors (like Notability), and must be an immediate priority. The 2021 new year is your chance for a great update like this.

Only one feature I wish goodnotes has. Without it, goodnotes still isn’t the best note taking app out there.

I agree with that to add audio recording feature in goodnotes! It would be much better if we can record the audio while we take down notes as it's so convenient to find out what we missed afterwards! That's why most people prefer using notability just for this kind of support! So pls consider it as we're looking for it too!

Please add this feature. Images can be added. Which is very good. Images are files, so is audio, so is video.
I do take many notes where audio illustrates the notes. -

It would be great if there was support for voice recordings. This would enhance the ux because sometimes it is much easier to say 2 sentences to explain something than writing and scribbling.
When exporting to pdf voice messages could be erased or converted via speech recognition to a written text. -

It is not even possible to put a simple recording into a document.. You can't tell me, that is that much difficult or expensive to program this feature! I mean, we have to pay almost 10€ for what? To have a page with dots instead of lines??? If youtuber were smarter and would study sth. demanding, they would promote for Notability or OneNote..

I learn German. My classbook has some exercises that requires you to hear an audio file first, then answer some questions. I’d like to load the audio audio to a page, click on a icon and open a small window to play the linked audio file. It’d be also great, if I can also mark an IN and OUT point on the player to repeat just a small part, that I didn’t understand, without hearing all the file again.

I think that developers should add audio recording while writing function and it can cutoff notability functions and make things easier by just using one app.

I think that GoodNotes need to add more to this requested feature. Developers could add the opportunity to make bookmarks of the audio (or multiple audio) in the note as well in order to listen to a phrase again with a single touch.

I completely agree with adding the audio capability. I have watched a plethora of Goodnotes vs Notability for which one fits better in my life. I ended up purchasing both because each had their standout functionality. Notability was mainly purchased because of it’s audio capability as I use it for work meetings and remembering all that is said for class purposes. I really liked how the handwriting corresponded when playing back along side the audio as well. Looking back at some notes this was a huge win as I didn’t completely remember why I wrote it down. Obviously needed more coffee that day:). I love Good Notes but adding the audio capability is that needed push to decrease the large amount of Good Notes vs Notability reviews. I agree with those that have stated they would pay a few extra bucks for this feature.
