Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

Hi, we use goodnote ar work for documentation with photos and trawings. We need the compression of pdf! The most PDF are over 40mb. Atm we must downsize the pfd with another app what makes a bad workflow.. PLEAS ADD THIS!

This would be the only reason I would switch to GoodNotes 5. It is clearly essential. Please add it ASAP.

The Update to Version 5 has cool new functions, but it drained my iPad battery by 50% within 90 minutes.

As Katheryn and Travis have mentioned, having a two-finger tap to undo would also be a great option, but there's no reason to not have both that and scratch to erase!

Agreed. Split screen is essential

Hello:
In GoodNotes 4, "screenshotting" an area bounded by the lasso tool yielded high-quality images. The screenshot quality has decreased in GoodNotes 5. Please improve the lasso tool screenshot in GoodNotes 5 to have the same quality as before.Thank you!

Upon further investigation I realize that there is no size where this does not happen. The zoom window jumps based on its height and is not tied to jumping to page locations such as the next line. As long as the zoom window height is different then the height of the lines on the “paper” it will jump out of sync and you will skip lines.

In Goodnotes 5 when I increase the size of the zoom window it begins to skip lines instead of always jumping to the next line when you have the auto-advance feature on. Thus, I may reach the side of the page and when the auto-advance feature jumps to a new line, depending on what size the zoom window is, it may skip the next line and have you writing in the wrong place. I do not recall this ever happening with Goodnotes 4, no matter how large the zoom window was. It slows the writing process when you have to manually adjust the zoom windows location everytime you begin a new line.

This is a disgrace at this point. Are you even working on it???

It would be nice to have a scratch to erase option for Goodnotes. This would greatly improve the writing experience and save plenty time. It would make a very great app even better.

What the HELL!! I mean Goodnotes 5 is ok, but missing the ONE feature it should have had!!

Ha, just come to check if the updated version 5 has the split screen feature. The answer is a clear NO! It means their developers do work on maintenance, but for some reason, the feature is not seen or ignored. Marginnote and notability both have the feature, just in case if any of you need the feature.
