Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

I am using other note taking app to facilitate. I'd rather focus to one and the only, Goodnotes. Please Goodnotes team!! The split screen will beat the others by so much!!

That will be great, because pdf sites have a edge which can be better used with the toolbar and scrolling through the pages would be easier.

Allow us to move the toolbar at the top of our notebooks. As a left hander and someone who uses the margins often, I keep having issues hitting the toolbar buttons as I write. The disabled palm feature is not working in this respect and it is rather frustrating. This is by far the best app I've found but due to my natural writing style I have issues often.

I'm constantly comparing my notes between different sections/chapters for classes at school. I.e. Flipping back and forth between blank version and answer key version. Would be VERY handy to be able to have even just two PDFs open side by side for comparison/editing.

This would be amazing. I would be willing to pay a small monthly subscription for something like this. As much as I love this app it is becoming a hassle to upload to dropbox then have the other person re-download and so on and so forth.

I just like to see two pages from the same document.
This is really helpful when organizing and restructuring ideas. -

When there are multiple tabs (documents) open, I can close each individually by clicking on the X, except for the very last one. For this to close, I have to open another document, which is not very handy. Would it be possible to fix this? That it, the ability to close all tabs.
Excellent work with the app. I greatly admire your effort.
Best regards,

This feature is much needed.
"Use the tabs" is a cumbersome solution for many multi-document use cases. There is huge value in seeing both documents at once. For example, marking up a PDF while taking notes in a different document which is very common for students. Having important notes in one place is much better than looking for the note you made in a margin somewhere.
Or combining documents in more than the simple "import below" method. It's much easier to copy and paste when you can see both at once. Heck, this is a perfect use case for drag and drop across documents.

Also allow removing extra free space left over after adding too much

Gets my vote, three of them in fact. It would be a really great addition.
I would like to have my pdf open for review/markup/reference on one half and my notepad on the other half. I find myself looking for this feature more and more. This would work so well on my iPad pro with it's larger screen. Please consider this in addition to your tab solution.
Thanks in advance.

The only wish i have about goodnotes! I want to at least see two documents at same time.
I study without paper.. just my ipad. It works good for me. But at the moment i have to use 2 Apps to take notes out of a document (Textbook, teachers notes, own notes). It would be perfect if i could write down my notes and annotade textbooks in Goodnotes simultaniously. Because, i love doing both of it with goodnotes. Actually i annotate in goodnotes an write my notes in notability... -

Yes, please. The ability to work on two notes at the same time is necessary for my schoolwork. As it stands now I have to use two different apps. I would much rather stay in GoodNotes.
