Implement a splitscreen option.
The splitscreens option allows the user to see two pages of one document at once. With this option the user can open an informative pdf on the one side while taking notes on a different sheet on the other side.
We’re excited to announce that we have completed this feature. It is now available in the update GoodNotes 5.3 for iPadOS (13.1).
With the update, we added full support for iPadOS’ multiple windows. It lets you do much more than viewing two documents side by side. To read everything you need to know about opening multiple documents, please visit goodnotes.com/ipad-os.
How to open a new window:
You can now open GoodNotes in multiple windows to view two documents side by side, view two pages of the same document in Split View, or pair it with other apps in spaces across your entire system. To open a new window, drag any of the elements listed below to the side of your screen:
- the app icon from the dock
- documents from the library
- folders from the library
- individual pages from the document thumbnail view
- tabs from the tab-bar
You can also use the buttons in the library action menu or from the tab-bar to open a new window.

Allow individual folder to be organized individually. Currently, if I organize one folder by “date”, it will change the organization of every folder to “date” as well.
Also, extended options for organizing (eg oldest first, newest first, by color) would be helpful -

Landscare mode note taking would be more efficient (by requiring less scrolling) if the tool bar could be placed on right or left edge of screen.

Yes, I'd like to be able to open two goodnotes 5 docs at the same time too.

I hope the tool bar can be put in the zoom window in GoodNotes5. Also, I hope the blue area in the zoom window can be put on the right side of the zoom window instead of the left. The blue area covers the area where I want to write down things.

QQ: When you say “available in the next version”, does this mean next version of 5.x, or does this mean I have to wait until 6.0?

In GoodNotes 4 there was a function where you could go back to the previous page you were on, I was hoping you could have an update where that function was available. It would be extremely helpful because I hit the top of GoodNotes accedently all the time when i am editing and then it takes me to the first page and I would like to just go back to the page I was editing instead of having to search for the page by keyword or try to remember the page number.
