Audio recording that syncs with handwritten notes
We need linked audio recording so that we won't miss anything in the class or in meetings!
The reason behind the success of NOTABILITY is the audio recording functionality, I use notability just for that!
Please add it.

It’s a big weakness not having this. I’ve had to switch to Notability

Goodnotes is a great note taking app, and I think it essential that the voice recording feature be added. For legal conversations and purposes I do suggest this feature be prioritized.

I would also LOVE to see this feature in Goodnotes! I have been an AVID Notability user for years, and after years of research of Notability vs. Goodnotes, the ONLY reason why I still use Notability is due to the ability to audio record during meetings that I will need to reference for important info later. If Goodnotes adds the Audio record feature, I will absolutely convert to this app 100%. I will no longer have a need for Notability.

create an app for iwatch that activates the video or audio recording of an iPhone, or take a picture.
the iPhone would be placed on any support that points the camera towards the speaker with the goodnotes app open, and so while notes are taken on the iPad by hand, you can put your hand to the clock in a second to take an audio snapshot or a video of the exhibition in progress. When the audio video or image is finished, a small window like the airdrop appears on the iPad so that the user can drag and drop the capture in the part of the document that is interesting and when it is released, a message appears in which it is given choose if you insert it in link mode, thumbnail or with a text to be written by it at that moment. -

writing with a pen on a phone or on the Mac is crazy, so the iPhone application only serves to create notes from text boxes and as a visualizer as the application for mac, which only gives a sense of security because I have I read that there are many synchronization problems and even data can be lost.
then the idea is the following: do the writing with the keyboard on Mac and phone by default, and that the user choose to write with a pencil, if you prefer, something unlikely.
and that the notes are automatically synchronized between devices, that is, if you leave a note on the phone, it appears on the ipad as you left it and also on the mac, without having to import or export, or open a browser, or make a single click, that is, a location in the cloud is configured when the application is installed and all applications when they are closed or open or each pause in writing is synchronized with the cloud, then what is done on a device is within all. because paying € 9 for an application more than deserving it is because I demand it.
summary, typing with default keyboard in everything that is not ipad, and automatic synchronization between all the applications of different devices, this actually with the universal search was for yesterday ... and a better file search is also much appreciated although less urgent, how to insert links in the notes by dragging and dropping from this file finder or the split screen of the iPad, but these are other ideas, such as giving the possibility of using the phone as an audio recorder while writing notes from the iPad in a class, or you can even leave the phone positioned to record a video or take a picture with the Apple iwatch with a touch while taking notes, for exposed slides or videos and live demonstrations, but first things first...
Thank you. -

I have both GoodNotes and Notability.
And my main note taking app is GoodNotes. I got Notability mainly because of audio recording. But after using audio recording feature with Notability for nearly a month, I found that it’s not a useful feature.
For two reason; the first is when writing with Apple Pencil, the pencil touches the surface and produces a clicking sound. Since the iPad is a relatively compact device (I’m using 12.9"), the sound spreads all over the device and iPads both microphones picks it up and reinforce the noise noticeably.
The second reason why the audio recording is not a useful feature is the quality of recording on iPad Pro. Having tried Notability, the sound is not that great unless you sit in the first row.
As for now, I use a cheap Olympus dictaphone while using GoodNotes on iPad Pro. After seminar I upload the sound file to the cloud (Drive/Dropbox) and import it to iPad. The sound is much better and I can actually understand what the teacher says without cranking up the volume. And there’s no problem to manually follow recordings with the notes.
So unfortunately there ain’t no "one ring to rule them all". But for marketing point, I guess its a good selling point to attract otherwise potential Notability buyers :-)

I have notability and goodnotes - I much prefer the notetaking aspect of goodnotes, I love the zoom in window and how everything is so customizable but I keep notability on hand in case I need audio recordings
If you could please add this wonderful feature to goodnotes, I would never use another app for my college classes!!

It would be great if we can record audio with notes. I attend allot of meetings where it would be beneficial to have audio with the notes.

So here we are: iOS 11 added drag and drop for the first time. The time is there that we can dream of something Windows users know already for a long time: OLE or Object Linking and Embedding. In other words: link whatever you want from whatever app and jump back and forth between apps as much as you want.
Sure this is not the real OLE, Its only the linking part I hope you will vote for here.A few others also asked for link support such as
http://feedback.goodnotesapp.com/forums/191274-goodnotes-ideas/suggestions/7195434-links
and here
http://feedback.goodnotesapp.com/forums/191274-goodnotes-ideas/suggestions/10300362-clickable-links
and here
http://feedback.goodnotesapp.com/forums/191274-goodnotes-ideas/suggestions/3880942-link-to-pageCurrently, Goodnotes won't support linking to INTERNAL sources within Goodnotes such as other pages, bookmarks or notebooks.
Goodnotes also doesn't cope well with EXTERNAL links from other apps on your iOS device such as a mindmap app that you want to refer to from one of your notebook pages in Goodnotes or the other way around so you can refer from your mindmap app to a Goodnotes page or bookmark in one of your notebooks.
Pasting an URL to a website on a Goodnotes page that launches my browser with that page is also not possible.
Sure, there are always limitations. When you open a Goodnotes notebook on another device or -- maybe in the feature -- on another platform, interapp links won't probably work. So be it. I think most of us can live with that one.
I really hope the developers of Goodnotes realize the importance of linking, internally, externally and beyond and I hope it will be implemented by your votes in the very near future (next to making audio notes).
Thank you for favoring this idea with your vote!

Notability is always ahead of Goodnotes in the App Store rankings because of audio. Once Goodnotes adds audio - Notability will disappear.

Concur with all the below. I haven't bought Goodnotes yet because of the lack of audio. Will be ready to switch from Notability when this happens. The audio is the ONLY reason why Notability is always top 5 in the iOS App Store.
