Audio recording that syncs with handwritten notes
We need linked audio recording so that we won't miss anything in the class or in meetings!
The reason behind the success of NOTABILITY is the audio recording functionality, I use notability just for that!
Please add it.

As an educator, I'm always creating content for use in GoodNotes. It is an active notebook or assignment book for my students. What I need to be able to do is to import an ePub workbook (using video and audio), and have students be able to click on the video or audio buttons to see/hear, then answer questions using GoodNotes' ability to handwrite/draw answers.
If not importing an ePub, then a means to drop video and audio that would be clickable. For example, I may place several audio clips on a page, but each one plays only when clicked. And be able to export as a PDF with embedded audio/video, so it can be distributed to students without accidentally editing the original file.
Note on adding audio or video: Should you add these feature (welcome addition even if importing ePub is a reality), I would like to add that I prefer that I 'drop' my video or audio. Similar to how I can add audio directly from Book Creator for iPad, this particular feature is nice because I can keep my audio clips short. Different from how Notability allows each record/pause to produce an audio bookmark. That's a great feature, but I need it to be something I can place on the page as separate audio clips. Book Creator has a built-in recorder for audio or a/v, as well as importing a/v files. I prefer to import files for interactive workbook designs as it allows me to compress those files in the extreme and keep my digital interactive workbooks lite! Thanks!

Firstly, I'm loving your app.
However, there are a few things that I feel are required in order to make this app the best note-taking app.1. Adjusting the eraser width.
2. An audio recording feature for each page
3. The option to scroll down the page to the next page
4. The ability to draw curved lines.
5. Adding a 'ruler' feature which would allow us users to create the perfect perpendicular lines or in any angle we like. Those were a few suggestions that would make this app perfect for me.
So far I've tried most leading note taking apps out there, and so far GoodNotes fits me most, but adding those features I listed would make this app perfect for me. -

Date and time stamp to go along with audio recording.

Steal, beg, or borrow the pens from Noteshelf!!! It dramatically improves the look of my notes.
I'd like to stick with Goodnotes but I want audio recording of my seminars, more robust handwriting to text conversion than the competition, and the pens from Noteshelf.
Then your product will be perfect! :-) -

How long will we have to wait for this? Your lack of information is costing you customers :-(

This is a fantastic tool (thanks!) but no app can be all things to all people.
My suggestion is that there be some sort of plugin mechanism where third parties can provide functionality in the form of downloadable plugins for the community of users of GoodNotes. With time, GoodNotes could have an unmatched set of varied capabilities. Increasing competitive advantage and creating a community momentum that would significantly raise the barrier of entry.
Plugins would be optional so people can get only the things they want. And for your company, third parties might provide them as-is or open source, which might serve to allay any concerns regarding stability and liability.
Just off the top of my head, here's a few ideas that could be done by others:
- Math, Chemistry, physics, etc handwriting recognizers
- Active fields for computation (internally or using wolfram, etc)
- various new graphical templates, objects and decorations
- recording audio, video
- various alignment, bullet, table, margin, repagination type capabilities
- and no doubt many others that I cant even guessI've done this before for an app I used to sell and was amazed at the incredible variety of useful things the community came up with, further enhancing my product.
Interestingly, it was not an expensive feature for me to provide. Mainly a matter of exporting already existing functions in most cases and some short documentation explaining how things work and a function reference.
Worked great for me ... might be good for you guys too? I cant say because i dont know your business model but i thought it was something that might work for you (and us) ...

Yes, I would love this. Just started using GoodNotes + Apple Pencil and would really like to replace my aging Livescribe for interviews.

Very useful for autoedited PDF to prepare a lecture. That would make Goodnotes an interactive, note taking app.

to record a seperate video an audio, that it is possible to show in the video the important steps. Freeze parts as a picture in the video. That will be the futre of Learing. Or Audio video export to webpage for editing, if apple will not allow this.

Totally agree. I also use GoodNotes daily but have to switch to Notability for audio and I am considering switching to that permanently now. Do we know when audio will come to GoodNotes?
