provide features that are available for iOS (laser-pointer along with option to change color, import SVG , copy/past across doc). export without background.

Yes I agree, we need on Windows a complete Ios like version of Goodnotes. Particularly I want to say that I am very disappointed that the app currently only works online (I hope this is due to the fact that is currently in Beta, I hope that final version will (must) have a Offline version otherwise it would be unpleasant for users).
The App is online only and this reflects negatively on many factors: it is not certain that many users have an internet connection available in order to use the app (for example students (to whom this app is mainly aimed) they need of use a note taking app in any kind of situation with and without connection in order to be reliable), moreover, the writing experience (despite a fast internet connection) is laggy and does not in any way guarantee the true experience of Goodnotes for iPad.
I fear that all this could be reflected in negative feedback from users similar to what happened with Microsoft Whiteboard which since it became online only has received many criticisms as well as requests to add an offline version again. The difference is that, however, as regards Goodnotes, it is precisely the experience in writing, and the features (eg: voice recording with notes) and the use even offline, that make it chosen by users compared to other numerous apps already available such as OneNotes, Inkodo, Journals ....
As for the features, I noticed the lack of essential features of the App (present instead on the iPad) which I hope will arrive in the next beta version: missing customization of tools, draw and hold (to recognize a shape) doesn't work on beta (See video in attachments), missing the essential feature for students: the newest voice recording memo with notes.
I dedicate this section to some suggestions to make Goodnotes unique for Surface devices:
-selecting the eraser, when using it if you shake it to erase faster, the eraser size should get bigger (like it happens on MS Whiteboard)
- take advantage of the different vibrations of the surface slim pen 2 to ensure that each tool has a different vibration when you use it
- add the possibility to choose, to add a page, in addition to the swipe to add also possibility to add infinite pages (like on notability and onenote).
-add a true full screen mode when maximizing the window (like it happens on Inkodo where the windows' menu bar is hidden, See second Video in attachments)
-Add a new pencil tool that feels (in writing style) like a real pencil (like the one on Apple Notes or Inkodo see third video in attachments)
-Add a clickable draw/note when you re-play the audio recording, in order to listen that particular audio memo related to the draw you touched. -

Not sure why there needs to be a long winded discussion on this. You've knocked it out of the park with the iPad version. Simply duplicate it for Windows.

It would be very convenient to be able to do all or at least some of the following ideas.
-Type or add a textbox
-Make straight lines or shapes by holding stylus at the end
-Convert handwriting to text
-Add internet pictures -

I really like Goodnote as a student. I can create new notes, import many files into it and upload them on to Ondrive. But these perfect abilities are disappeared on the PC version!!!

Hello, I also think that it would by wonderful if you make the windows 11 version exactly like the IOS Version !!! This would be very beautiful for all Windows-users using a 2-in-1-device like me, I need this 2-1-device at school I am a teacher for my lessons, untill now I use an IPad I recieved from the State of Germany as the other teachers, but I want to use also my Windows HP 2-in-1-device because I like it very much, the only problem until now has been that I havent´t had a nice app like goodnotes for my windows-device. I´m waiting for the best IPad-app of the year now for Windows !!!! Best wishes for Goodnotes-developer-team. Yours sincerely Helmut Hartung (Germany)

The App is basically useless for me if we can't even import our existing goodnotes files.

Honestly I expected the Windows version to be the EXACT same as the iOS one and that I'd be able to flip back and forth. It would be easier to import some documents and photos from my computer directly, instead of having to email them to myself or upload them to google drive.

I agree! I love all the features in the iOS version. Why not just make Goodnotes for Windows exactly the same. This way we can also bounce between either with no problem.

Why try re-inventing the wheel? The iOS features are amazing; bring them all to Windows and let's keep rolling! I jump between Mac, iOS, and Windows all-day. Being able to have a consistent experience with Goodnotes across the board would be a game changer.

I use GoodNotes on my iPad and I love it! So, coming over to Windows thinking I was basically getting what I already use, I'm very disappointed! You should be able to access your keyboard vs only having an option to write in pen, uploading photos, having access to more colors and being able to add colors to your palette and font options as well. There should also be an option for those who are already users to sign in using their credentials vs having to create a new account.

I have used goodnotes temporarily on a borrowed iPad and I loved it. I really wish we as windows users coud just get exactly the same features, like exporting notebooks, changing colors for our pens and highligters and so on. An almost exact replica,so to say

Why make a Goodnotes app when all you can do is write on it. there are other apps that have that feature already. I was so excited for this because my classmates rave about it. but i dont have an features they do
-
Gabriel Ruthes commented
If the overall objective is to make it as user-friendly, simple, and powerful as in IOS, I will be a user without excitation.
The beta version is already better than most apps for windows (I use surface pro 7)

I have many things to say about the beta version. I pretty much agree with you. Start off by keeping the same look and functionality on IOS, but just bring it over to Windows OS. That could've solve a lot of issues from the get go. I'd rather wait longer for this than for them to push a slightly better version of the beta that we have now. Kinda disappointing

Make all features that are available to IOS available for Windows. We literally just want the same functionality made available to Windows users.
