I think the current GN6 toolbar, status bar area takes up a bit too much space, especially in landscape mode. It almost feels like 1/5 of the screen is gone.
An alternative workaround in GN5 was not using tabs, this saved up a good chunk of space. I am unable to find such an option on GN6.
I say this in comparison to other competitor apps which have a much smaller toolbar area where the emphasis is on the paper/notebook itself, and not the app around it.
I think this option would really benefit a lot of people.

OH MY GOD! YES PLEASE!
It is so annoying when things keep inadvertently getting erased. It also messes up shapes, too. Say you draw a line and write atop it... the app detects the writing as a scratch and erases all what is written and the line. I have never wanted to smash my iPad until this new "feature" came along.
