I'm on an ASUS Zenbook Duo (2025) and GoodNotes was my note-taking app of choice, but the Windows performance pushed me to switch to OneNote. The core issue is that the Windows version runs as a web app inside a browser: handwriting lags by up to a second or two, scrolling through PDFs isn't smooth, and idle RAM usage is way higher than it should be. I gave it another shot after the web-service compatibility updates, and while things are a bit more stable, the writing latency, the single most important thing for taking notes in class, is still there.
It's frustrating because the feature set is genuinely great; the only thing holding it back on Windows is the architecture. A native Windows app would make me switch back immediately, especially on a device like the Zenbook Duo that's practically built for pen input. On top of that, paying a subscription for the weakest-performing version of the app is a hard sell. Please prioritize a native Windows build with low pen latency.
