An error occurred while saving the comment Axel Sjöstedt commentedPlease ignore the bellow comment. Just found out that switching to fountain pen gives the feature I was hoping for :-)
Althogh, the pressure gradient could be better set. You shouldn’t have to press really hard to make a slightly thicker line and that is the case right now.An error occurred while saving the comment Axel Sjöstedt commentedThere is an option to use “pressure sensitivity” with Apple Pencil but I can’t see what difference it really makes.
Pressure sensitive writing would be really good. Why? Because when writing fast, it often gets messy when you get input from the lightest touch of the pen. Pressure sensitivity would make it more like writing with a real ball pen. I’m seeing this as one of the biggest shortcomings of GoodNotes after using extensively for almost two years. This makes me constantly considering to change app to Notability or OneNote to get better writing performance but I like the GUI of GoodNotes so I hope it could be fixed soon. -

I need this feature too. I’m frustrated that I cannot fit my handwritten notes on or around imported lecture pdfs. I’m currently thinking about switching to OneNote for this reason.
I really do not like much of the other features in onenote but this problem seams so important for when transitioning from physical paper to noting on an iPad. It’s just not enough only to copy the concept of defined paper size to bridge the loss of flexibility going from paper to screen. I love the touch and feel of good notes and has been using it for almost a whole medicine education but this is starting to really frustrate me as it has been in the requested feature line for a long time now and as I see it is has profound impact on good notes usability in modern study technique. The alternative is to take notes using keyboard on a computer but that takes away the proven neural advantage in of using handwritten notes to learn.
I really hope that you give it a serious thought to implement this feature in the near future.
Thanks for an otherwise great app!
Best regards
