Better Text Editor - Like Notion
Notion like document editor. On which I can annotate with pencil. Code format text, colored text, checkbox, toggle and much more like in notion. The current text editor is too rigid. It must be made a bit more user friendly.

Directly Import PowerPoints
Notability allows you to drag and drop PowerPoints. To use Goodnotes, I have to open the PowerPoint, export it as a PDF (you must be a Microsoft 365 subscriber to do this), and then import it to Goodnotes. Since all my lectures are PowerPoints, I uses Notability solely because I don't have to open ~15 PowerPoints to export them as PDFs every week.

bring back the arrow keys to move the cursor when typing
I use goodnotes without an external keyboard and I found extremely useful the left/right arrow keys to move the cursor when typing because many times it is not easy to place the cursor exactly in the desired position.
Can you bring them back?

move undo redo arrows to top right corner
I am left handed and with the undo/redo arrows on the top left corner in Goodnotes 7 I can (and occasionally have) involuntarily touch the buttons. An option for left handed persons to move the buttons on the right top corner would be great

Add packages for new symbols for math mode
Add a way for users to add new packages to the preambles of the LaTeX used for the AI, sometimes we just want to use a new symbol and can’t make it because the math mode won’t recognize it. It would be really helpful.

copiable markdown format
As a beta user, I surprisingly find that text mode is available for markdown format. However, when trying to copy what I wrote to other program like obsidian etc, everything ruined. This is a disaster for user who use different software in different platforms!!!!

callout
I would like to see the ability to add a callout to a notebook page. This would be a small colored block on which text could be written or typed with an arrow or other indicator to a point on the page. This would be similar to a GN post-it note, but it would have an arrow associated with it. My thought is that it would be useful for the callout to be low opacity until it is touched, at which time it would have 100% opacity so it can be read, and then when touched again would return to…

palettes
I love the app and use it daily across iPad + Windows. But I’m hitting the same wall every single session: there’s no way to save separate, named pen color palettes for different contexts.
My workflow swings between:
White backgrounds (lecture slides, lab reports) → darker inks
Black backgrounds (my own notes) → lighter/pastel inks
Right now I’m forced to maintain one long presets strip and manually hunt/eyedropper colors each time. It’s slow, error-prone, and breaks focus. After months of this, it’s honestly pretty frustrating because color is a core UX primitive in note-taking.

Eliminate long press features
When I “long press” (problem just occurs whilst journaling) three options pop up “zoom, add link, add comment”. I have long press disable everywhere I can on my end.

remember options for export
every time I export my document to a PDF the options are restored to their default values. I should be able to choose these defaults, or at the very least remember my preferences. For example, every time I export I have to deactivate "Enable Handwriting Recognition". One time should be enough!

Two things I need to utilise the new documents (markdown) feature
Firstly, kudos to the team for introducing markdown documents!
What I need to use it actively:
- Support for markdown documents on Goodnotes web (Critical)!
Reason: I use Goodnotes at work for my personal notes as well. However, I can't download the goodnotes windows app on my work laptop. I also use a windows pc and I can't get the markdown feature there.
- Ability to add markdown documents inside Goodnotes notebooks (Important)

Bilder und Text anpassen
Bilder horizontal oder vertikal ausgerichtet anordnen, so dass man auch einfach die gleiche Größe wählen kann.
Leider fehlt nach dem Update die Möglichkeit, die Hintergrundmaterial von Textfeldern individuell zu wählen.

Leave scanned documents in DIN A4 format (and dont duplicate when dragging to add new page)
Scanned documents always get changed to US Letter Format even if they’re in DIN A4 and then afterwards when you drag down it just copies the scanned page instead of adding a normal on of the notebooks template

Greater control over Math and handwriting
We should be able to write something out and if we want to go back and change not just the color, the stroke size, whether we want it written with dashed lines, dotted lines. Also we should be able to charge the color of our math equations

Apple Pencil (triple) tap to undo option!
When using the Apple Pencil one of the most useful features as of late has been the double tap toggle back-and-forth between your current tool and the last tool used, but it would make a world of a difference if you could:
add support for a toggle that can activate a double or triple tap option on the Apple Pencil that would function as an immediate undo button!! Like undo last stroke, text, paste, action, etc
A triple tap on the pencil would allow the undo button to work without interfering with the toggle between tools feature! Making the handwriting…

PLEASE add Scribble to erase for pencil too! (and other pen specific features)
The scribble to erase feature on the pen setting is amazing!!; it would be great to have continuity between the pencil and the pen features (scribble to erase, sensitivity, adjustments, and gestures, etc!

Seitenübersicht wieder direkt mit Bearbeiten
Früher konnte man in der Gesamtübersicht immer gleich die Seiten anklicken, die man bearbeiten, versenden oder drucken wollte.
Jetzt muss man erst auf … drücken und das bearbeiten ermöglichen. Schade, das war vorher viel einfacher!1 vote
