  1. I would like to suggest adding a “Copy Format / Paste Format” feature to GoodNotes.

Currently, when adjusting text styles (font, size, color, spacing, etc.), users must manually change each element individually. A format copying tool—similar to the “Format Painter” in apps like Microsoft Word—would greatly improve efficiency and workflow.

    With this feature, users could:
    • Copy font style, size, and color
    • Copy text box formatting
    • Apply consistent formatting across multiple sections quickly
    • Maintain clean and uniform note layouts

This would be especially helpful for students and professionals who rely on structured and visually consistent notes.

    Thank…

  2. The Current Bottleneck

Currently, managing a large library across multiple devices introduces a significant friction point: local search indexing.

    • The Waiting Game: Opening Goodnotes on a secondary device or setting up a brand-new device requires a lengthy indexing process for all changed or new documents.
    • Resource Drain: While downloading the actual PDFs and notes takes time, forcing every individual device to build its own search index from scratch is incredibly inefficient. It consumes massive amounts of battery life and CPU power.
    • Screen Time: To make matters worse, the app must remain actively open on the screen until this indexing completes,…

  4. This keeps popping up and now I can’t use this audio file like I can’t even access the whole playback bar. I had clicked summarize and then this happened. There should be an option to revert back to pop up window like before.

  5. Since we already have our screens and pencils out for studying, what if GoodNotes added a default category of "Destress" notebook templates?

Instead of just blank or lined paper, these would be templates designed specifically for taking a quick 5-minute mental break. As someone who loves art and sketching to unwind, I think having these built right into the app would be incredibly helpful for student mental health.

Some ideas for the templates could be:

    • Pages with geometric patterns, overlapping circles, or simple designs to just colour in

    • Shapes to trace or simple drawing prompts to get your mind off…

  6. I'd love if we could have autocorrect and spelling check for typed notes. It's a feature for written notes, but I'd love it for typed notes too.

  7. I would like to suggest adding a “Pin” feature to Infinite Canvas mode. As notes expand across a large canvas, it becomes increasingly difficult to relocate specific sections without repeatedly zooming and dragging around. This is especially frustrating when trying to find important content written earlier.

A Pin feature would allow users to mark specific locations on the canvas and quickly navigate back to them. Ideally, users could place pins anywhere, assign optional names (e.g., “Key Concept” or “Meeting Summary”), and access a panel listing all pins for one-click navigation.

This addition would significantly improve navigation efficiency, reduce time spent…

  8. A feature like preferences in Google Docs where we can set certain terms / symbols to be recognized auto changed to whatever you want , i.e. you can set “w/o” to be auto changed to “without.”

If not automatically, then be given the option for it to be changed (similarly to the way spellcheck words).

  9. Please give us the option of laser pointer in the reading mode. I don't want to edit my document, I want to
    1. Read the document myself with the laser pointer
    2. use it while presenting, without accidentally editing anything

  11. I would like to edit a notebook on my Mac and iPad at the same time using Turbo Sync for minimal lag. That way I can use the full size keyboard on my Mac, drop in screenshots from my Mac, and then annotate or draw figures with the Apple Pencil. I was ready to pay for 2 subscriptions to pull this off but because they would both be associated with the same Apple ID it did not work.

  12. Please link with the Apple Watch to allow users to record audio/meetings from the watch and then access ai summaries and view notes on other Apple devices. This would make it far less intrusive then recoding with the phone.

  13. I’m a frequent Goodnotes user on macOS and rely heavily on it to manage and review a large number of PDF documents.

One feature I strongly miss is the macOS “Quick Look” preview functionality — where pressing the space bar instantly displays a full-size preview of a selected file without fully opening it. This allows for extremely fast navigation through document lists and makes it easy to quickly inspect content before deciding to open a file.

In Goodnotes for Mac, the only available preview is the thumbnail view, which is helpful but too limited for efficiently scanning document contents when…

  14. At the moment, browsing folders requires opening them one by one, which makes it difficult to maintain context within the broader file structure. I would like to propose the addition of a column-based file view, similar to the column view available in Windows File Explorer or macOS Finder.

In this view, folders would open in adjacent columns rather than replacing the current view. This would allow users to:

    • See the full folder path at a glance
    • Navigate through nested folders without losing perspective of the directory structure
    • Quickly move between hierarchy levels
    • Drag and organize files more efficiently

    A column…

  15. Your app is not properly compatible with iPadOS 26.3, which was released on February 11, 2026. There is a serious issue with the status bar hiding option. It is not working correctly at all. Even after enabling the option, the status bar does not hide automatically and sometimes overlaps with the app interface. Please look into this issue and fix it as soon as possible.

    Thanks.

  16. Please include a lock function/icon in the primary image click hover menu.

And/or even more functionality to be able to “pin” tools nested in the ellipsis (overflow menu) to this primary hover menu permanently as specified by user.

This would save several inputs in order to lock elements, similar to how (once locked) the hover menu populates with a rapid unlock image icon.

    Please & thanks.

  17. Instead of having so many files open, can we have it so that there are tab groups we can open and close, and rename (like how we have it in browsers)?

  19. Whenever you are writing on an already somewhat full page (be it in a classroom setting or in a video that you might publish), it would be very helpful to have a visual indicator to tell the viewer WHERE you are writing. Especially if you have to jump between several places on the page, this makes it much easier to follow.

I would therefore like to see an option where the already exisiting dot laserpointer can be turned on to follow the pen for heightened visibilty.

  20. I would like to study my flashcards in Smart Mode without shuffle. Or, when studying normally, sort them by "still practicing" or "I know that" so I can see my progress.
I can study my cards only in chronological order.
